Great place for our Christmas party. Food was cheap. Staff were super friendly! Great ambience. Only issue I have was that the bar was cash only. But the friendly staff made up for that. :)

Amazing place. Beautiful from the outside and tardis like inside. Beautifully looked after. Historic but actually a friendly social club.

Lovely place full of lovely people. Club boat (John Sebastian light ship) only open Thurs and Sat but if you are around on these days, you will get a great reception. The club is full of approachable people who will make you feel welcome whether you like boats or not (but it helps!). As a boaty type myself looking for a club to get into, I couldn’t have asked for a more suitable group. Whether you are an ambitious sailor looking to brave the Bristol channel or just wanting company to ditch crawl up the Avon, these guys are an active club who don’t mind what you want to do but will support you in whatever that may be. Regular cruises up river or even for the timid, trips just out of the channel into Portishead to find your confidence. Very pro-active group with tons of social events so no boating necessary but where’s the fun in that!?

The Cabot Cruising Club have their Clubhouse in a restored Lightship. I was here with the South Bristol Amateur Radio Club as part of their activation of the former Light Vessel 55 in the 2018 International Lighthouses and Lightships on the Air weekend. There was a working party on the ship when we were there but the members were very welcoming and helpful.

It's a retired lightship. Excellent party venue. Its moored in Bristol and not easy to find if you are a stranger.
