1st Move International

Brilliant company to work with - really responsive and helpful office-based staff dealing with all the preliminaries for the move from London to Canada followed by amazingly quick and hard-working team of packers and movers who dealt with the 5.5 cubic feet of stuff to be shifted down 8 flights of stairs (!) into the van. Have not yet had reports from the recipient in Canada but I expect that to be wholly positive. I just wish we'd used them when we made our move to and back from New Zealand a few years back.

Preparing for the shipping was good with quick answers to queries and lots of helpful advice. The reimbursement of the cost of boxes was appreciated and easy to sort. The collection team were quick and efficient. Delivery was equally good and the help from the Cayman agent excellent. We liked knowing the ship and could track progress and would have liked to know the second ship for the final leg from Florida. Very good and we would definitely use again if needed.

So I moved to Canada, and needed to move all my stuff, including computers/screens/audio equipment and guitars. They weren't the cheapest or the fastest, but overall they were really great! They came to my flat in London, took all my stuff in 15 minutes, and 45 days later, all my stuff was at my door, perfectly packed. Extra care was taken for my guitars and I really appreciate. Not a single item was damaged! I would recommand them to anyone! Just make sure you ask them for kerbside delivery if you don't want to have surprise if you actually need kerbside delivery. For me, not a single penny had to be paid over what we agreed.

Most of our furniture was broken on arrival. Poor job of packing pallets. An example: extremely heavy items piled on top of an antique table, which caused the base to crack. Could have easily been avoided, obviously it wasn’t the way to ship it--which means either they have no idea what they’re doing or they simply don’t care.Dining table broken as well. Antique brass headboard dented in multiple places, ‘missing’ wine and champagne glasses, china plate cracked in half..the list goes on.A total disaster. If you’re planning a move, hopefully you’re reading the reviews. Something I neglected to do.

Moving household effects from UK to the USA is, by nature, complicated by paperwork and odd sized items. The move was completed with comprehensive and immediate help from the staff both online or by 'phone. Items were collected from storage unit in the UK and delivered curbside in the USA with no problems and on schedule.Packing was excellent with extensive padding and protective wrapping. All in all an oustanding service.

We chose 1st Move to move from London (UK) to Vancouver (BC) earlier this year and were very pleased with how the move went. The pick up team was amazing: 30 minutes and everything from our two bedroom flat was in the truck. Communication was seamless and welcoming throughout the entire process. The fragile items were wrapped and packaged amazingly, and as a result everything arrived safe and sound, and it took only about 5 weeks. Moving from the UK to the USA was an extremely daunting task. It’s not the monetary value but the sentimental attachment to all of my children’s items and personal things that made me do my homework choosing the right company for this job. So I checked out many companies online before choosing 1st Move Int.As soon as I booked them everything was plain sailing (no pun intended)!) Two elements that really stand out as superlative was firstly the two chaps who came and collected all the items from my home in St Albans. Very professional, overly helpful and very good at settling my nerves. The second and possibly most important, was seeing all of my items on the drive of my home in Texas, just six weeks later - and the magnificent packaging! I could not believe how well it was all put together on three pallets. I am leaving this 5 star review because in an age where it’s so hard to get good customer service we need to applaud those who do it well and 1st Move International certainly did this for me. Thank you! I highly recommend this company!

Used 1st Move to move to the USA.Absolutely fantastic company to work with and whilst not the cheapest, it really is what you pay for (and a little more!).Very smooth process getting it onto the ship and through both sets of customs and apart from a little hiccup with their overseas logistics agent (which was the agent's fault ultimately) it arrived at my new home pretty smoothly.The hole picture attached to this review shows the first cut" into the pallet on unpacking and shows just how far they really got with the shrinkfast packaging to keep your stuff safe."

From first contact to completion of the job everyone at 1st Move International had time to talk through options, they all worked with humour and appeared to enjoy their work from the driver who collected my stuff up through the office staff. I can't think what they could have done better, when my stuff arrived after several weeks at sea I was pleased but not surprised to see no damages. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and if I move again they get the call! 5 Star
