Really friendly customer and very reasonable prices of the birch plywood we needed. As a woman I was treated like an equal here which doesn’t always happen in this type of environment.

Wow what a place. I think they only really cater for the trades people. I went in because it's close to my house but found the staff rude and unhelpful.

I had a site near them so used them for timber, building materials etc prices are somewhat competitive but stopped going after a third visit even though it was very convenient for me, the attitude of the staff in the yard and the counter is absolutely despicable, they cannot communicate like civilised people and a mere 'good morning' is responded with an intimating stare or a nod if you're lucky, they seem to really hate when customers show up. On one occasion two members of staff were shouting and swearing at each other in front of customers, another time a chap shrugs and walks off whilst asking him about a product in stock, their apathetic demeanour makes me question whether they're being paid or serving a community service there. I spent 13k worth of materials in Jewsons next door where the difference in treatment is worlds apart but just goes to show how customer service is so crucial even for merchant offering necessities.

Two staff members in the warehouse tells me I can't be in the warehouse without a staff member. Not great customer service, gone to another merchants because they took long.Reply on Google was quicker than the customer service.Two staff members were chatting away about there weekend with no mask, while telling me to go find someone else to help, not really a worthy excuse but hey, you do you!

Spectacularly grumpy staff. Seem to be in a competition with each other as to who can be the surliest. The stock range is good which frankly is the only reason to visit.Update.A year later I’m forced to return. After being ignored at the counter for a few minutes we were eventually served by a friendly person so maybe it’s a step forward.

Generally only use these guys for deliveries as we are on opposite sides of the river so not always the easiest to get to however they are fast, efficient and can usually deliver on the same day which can’t be said for their competitors. Well stocked and carry a wide selection especially bricks.

I just wanted to take a second to say how delighted I am with the service I have received from the Epsom branch of Hitchcock & King. I've visited twice so far and it's been the same two chaps both times (I think it's the store manager and the young chap with glasses). I'm not a tradesman, but I was made very welcome and the whole process was speedy and professional. Many thanks.

This is a top builders yard. Great stock and quality of products. Delivery service is easily the best in London. Was 2 tonne bags short for a screed floor. Called up at 10am and delivery was done by 11:30am. Not just a one off and usually get same day deliveriesKeep up the good work
