Relatively speedy service considering how busy it was and a decent range of products. A jolly fellow made our drinks and served us cake. The hot coffee was perfectly acceptable and the cake was very yummy yum yum. The interior was a bit messy which let the experience down a bit but overall pretty good and much better than the bakery nearby.

Service increadibly slow took 45 minutes. Staff stood around talking to each other. They did a good job of ignoring you. Only wanted tea. Hardly any customers most walked out. System of favourites people coming straight in and served. Visitors avoid this cafe. While sat here another couple complained to be told suit yourself. No customer care skills. Our own waitress was sarcastic when it eventually came. Another couple walked out.

Leek and potato soup and bread made in the bakery! Love Beamish! The Tea Rooms were a great place to warm up and dry off ready for more exploring! Thank you!

Visited Beamish museum for the first time. It's a great place, a museum with a difference. Stopped in the tearoom for lunch and was very disappointed. The cheese and spinach flan with vegetables was awful dry and tasteless. The flan looked like it had been heated for hours, it was very dried up, as thin as a biscuit and virtually inedible. The vegetables were limp and the potatoes especially had that kept heated flavour. Placed on cool plate this didn't encourage the meal to keep any heat whilst transfering to our chosen table after paying. The soup was warm and bland although hotter than the main dishes purchased. The bread was dry piece of crust. The 2pork loin rarebit (tastier) and veg was vertically cold on getting to our seats and eaten as a result of pure hunger not enjoyment.Due to the fact that the Tea rooms was virtually empty and it would normally have potentially 100s of visitors this was not encouraging!!

It is rare that I write a review before the food arrives. But I have now spent nearly an hour in a queue, and then waited another 30 minutes for food. No apology from staff when we've complained. Other food outlets at museum also appear to have long and very slow queues. This appalling service ruins what would otherwise be a good day out.

it was late in the day when we visited so the place was pretty quiet, staff looked whacked! nice views over park and street.

The festive bun was diabolical I’m afraid and I couldn’t eat it. Have never seen square turkey slices before which were half dried out. If it hadn’t said it was turkey no way could you tell by the taste. The accompanying parsnip was stone cold in fact the whole bun was tepid. As we had queued for a good half hour I was past wanting to choose anything else.Very poor service especially for a bun which you can buy in a pack of 6 for less than £2.Great shame as our party of 4 will never go there again. Only plus the coffee was nice.
