Great pub, making it a place we visit on a weekly basis. Good music, brilliant 'cheeky' staff who have a good laugh. Comfortable atmosphere and excellent pricing.

I visit Byker on a regular basis from over the water and this is the 6th pub i have been to on Shields Rd in the last few years and quite easily the bet so far.Clean & tidy, very reasonably priced and a decent bunch of local folk on a Tuesday lunchtime enjoying a drink. Will more than likely go back here again before i try the other 3 or 4 pubs on the road i have not been to yet.Overall quite impressed and the bar was definitely better than i thought it was going to be.

Once stood out to be the best on Shields Road but not so good over last couple of months. Disable toilet rotten mens toilet rotten prices good staff good but just doesn't have the seem feeling as once did that made it the best on Shields Road

Friendly, approachable, sociable staff who are quick to deliver on drinks and queries. Convenient location and lovely little pub. Unsure if there's a jukebox/music selection. Only improving in my eyes is pub grub or snacks!Lovely night guaranteed and conversation easily had with your own group or others!

Karaoke was on the Friday I was there. A few of the locals sang and the a visiting group down from Scotland took over. Songs were great, atmosphere rocketed and a brilliant evening was had by all. I can only comment on that evening as I have never been before or since. Beer here just the job and little cheaper than other pubs around the area.

Decent new addition to the Road. Looks pretty good both inside and out. Steady prices all round. Slightly small inside but there's enough seats in the place. Yes there are one or two 'characters' in, but this is a good drinkers pub so what do you expect? Pop in if you're local.Update February '23: Having not been to this pub since November 2019, I returned tonight for a quick beer. It's been pimped up since my last visit. John Smith's is now £2.25. The characters remain and the dogs are still on Sky Sports. However, it was like I had never left and there is no lack of vibration here, even on a school night Tuesday.
