Tucked in between a charity shop and a takeaway on Ashby High Street, you'll find an amazing little Indian restaurant that has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Clay Oven has amazing staff who are helpful, informative and very funny. They helped me find a meal I'd like that didn't contain any of my allergens, which was cooked to perfection. It's been a very long time since I've truly enjoyed an Indian meal and I can not recommend The Clay Iven highly enough. Thank you for a great night guys.

AWFUL!! THE WORST curry I've ever eaten.. asked for indian garlic chilli chicken vindaloo hoyly. AT BEST, it was chicken in sharwoods sauce.. keema nan and not even 1/3 of it had meat init.. SHOCKING curry called to complain got told next time u order your rice will be free. will NEVER order from here again

The food was good the only downside was how long it took to arrive. Sunday evening with only 9 people in the restaurant yet we waited nearly an hour for our meals. Goodness knows what it's like when they are busy. Otherwise it was fine.

The curry was like a thick soup, pureed to an inch of its life. With a few cubes of dry meat in. No pieces of any veg or spice. Its all very pre prepared and it shows.The onion bahjis weren't homemade just pre frozen bought in tiny balls for £3.50. The curry was missing the rice it was advertised to come with.The madras was very mild for a hot rated curry and the tarka Dahl was very watery.We collected our food which took an hour, it was hot, but disappointing.Nothing like the curry restaurants in Birmingham more like an Iceland ready meal I'm afraid.

Before ordering I asked the question of what the mixed platter consists of, I was told onion bargies, Samosas and other meats. For £11.50 that's what I would expect so I ordered this with 2 other curries... when we got the food home I was disgusted to find that the mixed platter was in a small takeaway container, certainly not enough for 2 people. The curries were also horrible, one was very bland and the other just wasn't what it said on the tin (so to speak) .... a big waste of £30, the only thing it was good for was the bin, which is where it went. It felt like there just wanting to close up and gave us the scrapes.... NEVER to return

Ordered the shared platter. Says it serves 2 but we have another portion which will not go to waste!. So much food, it was delicious & arrived earlier than we expected. The chicken was cooked to perfection & the sauces were delicious. Will definitely be ordering again. New ownership = massive positive changes. Thank you
