After over a decade away I was pleased to find this place still open and still the same fantastic fish and chips. Lovely to be remembered by the staff (32 years behind the counter for one lady). Proper chips and a nice bit of fish.Think I'll pop back again tomorrow.

Not going to buy here again. Cod was cold. Chips not hot and tasteless. I should have checked the reviews first. This was my first visit to this shop, but sadly my last.

Worst battered sausage I've experienced ! ...im sure left over from lunch burnt ,chewy and stale batter ... not only could you see the chips was burnt but taste it also ... AVOID .... even the seagulls on the beach thought they'd pass !!!!!

Chips were left over from lunch time 6hrs dry and shriveled and lots of bits .fish was paper thin and batter was very thin and almost brown in colour as if the oil needed changing .shame really because pat and Ian's was top dog chippy .won't be going back .dated 26 Jan 23 .

Service was little slow when busy. But just shows how popular it was here. Decent size portion of chips for wait, which were tasty. Battered sausages were really nice batter. Cheap sausages, but not as cheap as most chip shops. Prices were reasonable too. Curry sauce was ok. Saveloys looked good. Worthy of 4 star. Will be back to try Saveloys and fish at some point. Friendly service from server

I used to go to Mays as a child, when they served the best food. Today I paid over £16 for possibly the worst fish and chips I've had in my life ... ever! The chips were tasteless and like cardboard and the fish was so thin and small. I'll never go back and do not recommend - a complete waste of hard earned money.

Popped in as hungry so got a large chips.WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY...Had already left in the car and couldn't take back the cold, greasy, overcooked and reheated undersized portion we had the misfortune to receive.Been here in the past and they were always great.WHAT HAPPENED?????

The cost was high (£30 for 2 x fish and chips plus a kids fish and chips), quality was the worst I have had in many years, and it was cash only.Please avoid this place!
