We popped in for a drinks at the weekend after the great south run. Without us asking the lovely staff gave our dog a little gravy dinner which she absolutely loved. Really attentive and thoughtful, very friendly staff and great service. And obviously dog friendly ☺️

Great food and service. Cheerful and helpfulLet down badly by state of men's loos. Not sure what women's looks like but men's was reminiscent of 1970' British Rail loos which is not a pleasant memory.I asked and at the start of November their plan is to refurbish Loos after Christmas as manager has just changed. You may have lost a number of customers by then!! I certainly will not return until we into new yearI attach photos of loo currently.

Had a lovely pre theatre dinner here last night. Had their taster menu and was fab as was the white chocolate and passionfruit cheeses cake.Service good and efficient.We will be coming back again.

Shocking! Me and my friends attended a singles night here. Not one of us will go back again. The barman was overly rude and insulting. My friend has autism and he called her mental. My other friend was in tears when he said she's single because she's fat and unattractive, when he's not exactly small himself and when i asked for diet lemonade as I'm diabetic he said he only had normal lemonade and to get the hell out of the pub if I didnt like it. The singles group have now changed there gatherings to another pub. Diabolical behaviour.

There are very few pubs in Portsmouth that serve a good roast so I was pleasantly surprised after my visit to The Marmion. Homemade Yorkshire, roast potatoes and gravy (made the proper way) were all lovely as was the veg - everything tasted very fresh! I think I can say that I preferred it to the other place down the road. Slightly more than I usually pay, but I couldn't really find fault with anything - perhaps include stuffing? Parsnips? Although you won't go hungry as the portions were just right. Great service (am I right in saying that the place has been taken over?)

Will not be holding our monthly meetings here anymore. My badminton club meet here once a month there's 25 of us and we spend a lot of money here. But the last few meetings the large bearded barman has been extremely rude. He's insulted our members personal appearance. Hes snatched money when paying for drinks and told our coach she needed to lose weight as hewas too fat When we said he was rude. He told us to find another pub to meet up in if we didn't like his attitude. We won't be returning.
