Historic Helicopters

My son works in the helicopter industry and he booked tickets for the two of us on one of the monthly tours. We were made very welcome by the team there (all ex-servicemen) and after a short presentation about the ethos of the charity spent a very enjoyable morning being shown around all the helicopters and facilities. We were allowed to sit in the aircraft, ask questions and have a really good look. Unlike other museums, nearly all of the helicopters here are in working order and get flown regularly. The Westland Widgeon (a restoration project) was particularly interesting. After the tour we had a bit of lunch (included in the price). It was a unique experience and highly recommended to other aviation enthusiasts.

Near impossible to find, entry for equestrian center prioratised. And even some on site didnct know they shared the same ground.Some great aircraft, but much work to do.Better signage would also help.Most people would think they were closed.

Fantastic open hanger day, entrance fee includes drinks and lunch as well as a briefing of the aircraft before being allowed access to the helecopters. Some access is restricted into a couple cockpits such as the Whirlwind & Wessex but, your allowed unrestricted access to the Sea Kings. If you like aviation its well worth it.

Lots of older aircraft that are actually flying! Great to have a walk around.

A massive thank you to the team at Historic Helicopters, it was a really enjoyable insightful day. The team are so friendly and very knowledgeable.I was truly honoured to meet them and look around some of the famous historical helicopter they have on site. And to top it of a flying lesson from an extremely talented and experienced RAF pilot. I would highly recommend a visit to them.

Ripped off 70£ no offer to honour tickets for another show ...Such a shame..only a few got to see anything at 4.30 pm when it was safe to fly ,weather improved...

Historic Helicopters that actually fly.Great place for a visit , good food at the café and a shop to buy your own bit of aviation history.

What a fantastic place to visit! A working museum of historic locally manufactured military helicopters manned by very experienced and knowledgeable cadre of staff. They seek to preserve and educate and achieve this admirably.
