Rock & Sole Plaice delights with its exceptional fish and chips, a true taste of London's culinary heritage. Fresh, sustainable seafood paired with a fine selection of beers. Staff are wonderfully welcoming, enhancing the cozy, classic ambiance. A must-visit!

This is the oldest Fish and Chips restaurant in London. It was a very cute place to take the family. We ate outside and had fish and chips. We also had an order of chicken. All of it was deep fried and wonderful. The chips were also amazing. When we arrived, shortly after 5pm, the place was already packed. They also do a very brisk take-out business, so there is a lot of activity out front. The servers were amazing, and she took care of all our needs. Food arrived quickly and exactly as ordered and we all had a wonderful dinner. It was really a great representation of British Fish and Chips.I would most definitely go back.

Fish and chips weren’t good and the chips were dry and cold. Couldn’t even bite it as it was too hard. Told the staffs and said would checked with chef but did nothing/no follow up.Minimal service rendered and no tap water served until we asked. Disappointing food and service.Ordered the combination platter but the onion rings were like few and small pieces. Not worth

Dined at the oldest Fish & Chips spot in London, Rock and Sole Plaice, established in 1871. Its basement once served as a meeting hub for community volunteers during WW II. We tried the classic fish & chips—fresh, crisply battered, and satisfying. Also ventured into a British-style delight, the battered sausage; a first for me, quite interesting. Beyond its rich history, it might not be extraordinary, but definitely worth a visit.

Interior of the place and service are nice. I ordered fish and chips (lemon sole fish) and of course it was fatty but fish was tasty. Also I tried a chicken & mushrooms pie and can’t say it’s good. Be aware that 12,5% service charge is included in the bill. As for me the place is a bit overpriced.

In a word: overrated. I decided to try this restaurant because the advertising was so good. All of the information was so enticing and well written regarding how the restaurant started. The information stated that they had the “best fish and chips in Britain.” I ordered the fish and chips cod style and the coleslaw. The fish was very bland, dry, overcooked and chewy. Not good! However, I thought the coleslaw and chips were good and the tarter sauce was also very good! If you like under seasoned fish and chips, then this restaurant is perfect for you!

Picturesque little fish shop a stones throw from Tottenham Court Road tube station.Menu that has classic fish and chip options, we samples the Cod Loin and the chicken and mushroom pie, both delicious, the fish was soft and flaky in a tasty batter that was too thick. The pie had a delightful filling and excellent pastry and was notably fresh.Chips were of the same standard, thick cut with the right amount of crispness.I little high priced for me personally, but worth it as a once off for a great meal.

Such a lovely Fish and Chips restaurant! Crispy but melty fish and best-match chips were the best harmony! It may have a queue but would be able to have a seat shortly thanks to good customer circulation.
