Single Malt Cottage
Writing this on our last night and gutted to be leaving. Very, very comfortable (especially the bed which we're tempted to steal) and relaxing break. It is remote but that's exactly what we wanted and the peaceful location, great views and homely feel were truly perfect. Ian and Janet were lovely too and happy to give tips and advice - exactly the right approach to hosting. Got some amazing sunrises in the morning and being so remote meant that the stars at night were pretty magical.

Lovely, clean, cosy cottage with great facilities including full size hob, cooker and microwave. Nicely decorated throughout, and the bathroom has a bath as well as a separate shower. Gorgeous views from the cottage, including white tailed eagles.If you want to be very close to amenities (restaurant, pubs and shops) then this is not the location for you, but it's actually a lovely location on the opposite side to Portree which is a short drive away and the Stein Inn (local pub) a short way off on the coast.We had a friendly welcome to the cottage and a very relaxing holiday.

My wife and I stayed over here for a week, to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. Single malt cottage was more then we could’ve hoped for, and if you like hiking, walks or sightseeing, then Waternish is a great place to stay! Janet and Ian are very lovely people and are more than willing to tell you about the walks no one really knows about. Walks like the Quiraing, the Storr and the Fairy Pools are often crowded, but still enjoyable nevertheless. It’s a modern, cosy cottage and certainly met our needs. We highly recommend staying here and we’ll be back!

This is an amazing holiday rental with spectacular views across the sea. The property is exceptional and has all you would need for your stay. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming with loads of local knowledge if required. Makes for a very comfortable stay at the property. I am confident that we will return here again.

It is a lovely cottage with everything you need. It was really clean and everything worked.
We were pleased to find the fridge freezer was of a good size so you can stock up for your stay. This is useful as you are 20 minutes from the nearest shop.
The owners are next door and really helpful.
Great views and a really nice area to walk and explore.

Beautiful cosy, comfortable and well equipped cottage with fabulous views over the sea loch. Easy access to stunning local walks and a short drive to many more. Peaceful getaway location, with friendly owners on hand if needed. Bring plenty of yummy food for self catering and relax!

Perfect place to escape. Had great weather considering gales when we arrived. Superb cottage with all you need including great bedding and towels. Do not let the single track road put you off. This cottage is a must with stunning views.

Everything about the stay was perfect, apart from the weather! A great, remote location, surrounded by astonishing scenery. Within an hour you can be on The Quairaing, Neist Point or the lovely town of Portree. Beaches and cliffs everywhere, and loads of wildlife to see. Jan and Ian where perfect hosts - helpful and crammed full of local knowldge. If only the weather had lived up to the rest of the stay!
