Visited here around 12 months ago & had a great experience. However today was extremely poor, possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced & will not be returning. Booked around 4 weeks in advance, gave our table away to someone else on arrival, was told we should have pre ordered before arrival even though we were never told this. Manager had an awful attitude throughout & does not know how to treat customers with correct, the other service staff were very polite, upon part of the food order being wrong he blamed the customers & said we apparently did not order a certain item and therefore it was our fault. Food was cold, roast potatoes you couldn’t even cut with a steak knife & the pub was empty for a Saturday afternoon however I’m not surprised with this service. I suffer with a severe nut allergy, even though I made the staff aware of this my pudding was coated in what looked like pistachios, the manager assured me this wasn’t the case & as I was about to eat my meal he stated I shouldn’t eat it as he thinks it may be nuts. Many other complaints to be made, very disappointing experience with a lot of things to have gone wrong within a very short space of time.

Nice looking pub and was recommended it for a roast lunch, but... the roast was definitely not that impressive. apparently it must've been a different chef as it was completely different. also £3.60 for a pint of soda and lime cordial? seriously? Easy way to deter your customers....

The pub is part of the Ember chain of eateries. We ordered Starters: Nachos, Main: Mixed Grill, Sunday roast Turkey dinner and Sunday roast Beef dinner. The Nachos were very good. The Sunday dinners arrived cold, and the carrots too hard to cut. The Mixed Grill was fine, small peice of Chicken and Steak, good slice of Gammon, two Eggs, Peas, half of a small Mushroom, half a Tomato, three Onion rings and oven fries. The Sunday roast lunches were returned to the kitchen and were replaced with hotter servings. The staff were obliging and friendly.Sweet : Two in our group ordered the Chocolate Munchies Sundae, Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Cream, Munchies and a Cadbury's flake. What arrived resembled a smoothie with Munchies in it. Melted Ice Cream with spray Cream and Munchies. Yet again the items were replaced and did resemble the menu description. It was a shame that the order wasn't up to a good standard on the first offering, but to serve inferior items twice was unforgivable. This was on a day when it was very quiet, many empty tables and the Chef would not be under pressure. Nice place, nice staff but the whole experience ruined by lack of thought for what they were serving. They need to serve the Dinners hot and the ice cream cold.See pictures for details.

Nice place to eat. The food was nothing special. We had to order on the phone. You have to pay on the phone where they add 5% tip without anyone even serving you. When the food was brought to the US, the server was pleasant. The atmosphere wasn't the best. I don't think we will be visiting there again.

It was OK. Food was very bland. I had a posh fish finger sandwich. It needed seasoning, I have has better. My latte was lumpy, I told a staff member and she said strange but did not take the cup away and then I has to ask for a replacement when I realised she was not going to anything about it. Won't be rushing back.

We loved our visit yesterday. Living locally we have been a few times and have always enjoyed it, the food this time was notably even better than we had previously experienced. We had a range of starters which were piping hot, delicious and we didn’t have to wait very long at all. The table was cleared and our mains brought out in good time too, and again with the desserts (Highly recommend the vegan cheesecake, even if you’re not vegan, we couldn’t tell at all and it was incredible!) The lady behind the bar and the two guys who seated/served us were warm and welcoming and even though it was quite busy all tables appeared clean and empty of glasses/plates etc. If you’re not a fan of heading into town this is a lovely spot on the outskirts for a nice meal. Cheers, guys.

First and most definitely, the last visit to this establishment. Service at best non-existent extremely long wait between courses food very poor luke warm one meal sent back due to lack of fish in the batter and chips still partially frozen one meal didn't arrive at table until staff prompted . We had to question the bill due to incorrect charging. All in all, it ruined a Sunday afternoon out with family

Twenty people eating but three of us only having Nachos (2 small portions and 1 sharer) Our friends who were having 2+ courses had already had their starter and the second courses were coming out, still no Nachos, again this was requested and apologies made. Staff waiting on were lovely. Staff (miserable female bar maid) trying to sort food bills, what a ioke. Got annoyed when I explained I only had a small portion of Nachos and that's what I wanted to pay for, she tried to explain this was part of a meal deal and again I explained this was all i ordered and that's all I was going to pay for, she then proceeded to explain this is what happens when people say they are going to pay in full" like it was my fault!!! I only had a small starter.Really nice pub but Jeez sort your miserable jumped up Front of House out. She's enough to put people off when visiting again as she becomes stroppy when things dont go her way. No complaints with food other than waiting so long for Nachos

Nice pub that is very clean. Nice ample parking and good service from the staff. I only had a starter and dessert but the dessert was terrible. Feels like it was warmed up in the microwave as it was so hot in some places. I probably won't ever eat here again but the London pride was very nice. Will come back for ales but not the food. Deserves its 4 stars but never a 5.
