The Thinking Cup Café

I'm a regular customer love going upstairs to work away, in quite, undisturbed. I noticed a lot of customers do the same, having meeting, doing work and reading. If this is what market it wants it needs some changes, like to have staff check if customers want top ups on tea or coffee as I know myself I did not like leaving my stuff for new drinks and food. Not asking people to leave the lovely quite glass room for meetings without warning and not having more quite spots for them to go but loud down stairs. Kitchen Doors slamming is annoying while working and few staff having shouting chats. More easy to reach charging points in reading area. And later opening hours for night owls who want a place to work away over coffee. It is located in a high student and young professional area living in shared accommodation so a place of escape and work has always drawn people to this cafe.The early days staff would remember me and be very friendly but something has been lost over time, the cafe needs an identity as its on a saturated street of cafés and restaurants to choose from. So for cafe just for quite work it very good but not perfect.But...But if it is lunch you want it not the best that would rate lower if it was a place for food and speedy service. It's extremely slow service hit a nerve from time to time. I waited up to 40mins for a tuna melt sandwich as an example. It used to be worth waiting for as it used to pack full worthing its time and price but noticed it's now half portions. I don't get how a sandwich of premade ingredients take so long to make. I used to work in a sandwich place and could forgive it taking maybe 15mins but 40 mins means your hot drink is now finished or cold not rocket science to why it gotten other bad reviews for this alone.So I'd call it a OK study cafe but not one for someone in a rush or looking for quick bite to eat.

I don't like coffee shops back home much in New York, but this place is just wonderful. Food is great, drinks are great, and the people are lovely.

Quiet spot to take a laptop and do some writing.Coffee is good. Sausage rolls are amazing.

Bad services to someone who came almost every day. The shop keeper doesn't care. He prefers to make money on a group of customers. This group was also very rude and not civilized since they cannot even say thank-you to who gave them his/her seat. They took it for granted. Bad services plus rude customers. They much !!

If you like books, literature, reading or writing this is the place for you. Great coffee, great atmosphere and some class second hand books for sale

A nice idea, giving back to the community. Lovely selection of teas and bakes, staff a bit too busy talking amongst themselves.

Love this cafe have been quite a few times is always good for a coffee and a read.

Fantastic coffee shop, great choice of very tasty food (with a ton of vrgan options too) and excellent service. Definitely a must visit in Boston ❤️
