Stanwick Lakes
Very pleasant. Play area was packed so we avoided but lovely and quiet on the walks and plenty for the children to do on the adventure walk.

Stanwick lakes is a nicely landscaped former set of gravel pits along the A45 running between Rushden and Raunds. There are safe but adventurous play areas for children and lovely level well maintained paths that lead you on walks of various lengths taking in waterside vistas, woodlands and riverside walks. There is a per vehicle charge of £3.60 for all day which makes it good value for a family looking to spend a day. For me as a single pensioner it is a little too expensive to visit daily though it is possible to buy a year pass, I think this was around £35 but they also charge £5 for the initial card which again as a pensioner is a bit steep. There is a visitor centre that sells the usual savouries and drinks as well as souvenirs. All in all it is a lovely place but I’m priced out of regular visits especially as there are free places which are similar nearby.

Well we ventured to Stanwick lakes today from Peterborough and have to say I prefer Ferry meadows due to lack of parking a facilities....outside toilets a big let down locks on doors didn't work and dirty etc... coffee area outside not all that good as small.. only thing that was better than Ferry meadows in Peterborough was the kids outdoor play area great size it was packed and good to see loads of kids enjoying themselves but be aware if it's been raining it gets flooded..... bbq area not good as if you went as a big party nowhere to sit and bbqs right next to each other a lot crammed into a small area.loads to see as you walk round different zip wires loads of bird watching huts... EVEN SAW A RANGER MEDITATING OR DOING YOGA WITH A POST....HOW BIZZARE.... see picsPaul ParkinsonLocal Guide · 3

Great place for walks and wildlife. Paths are well kept and lots of attractions for young and old. Winter and summer. Some flooding after heavy rains over a period of days.

Stanwick Lakes
Very nice place for walking, jogging, or bird watching. The only thing i miss is bins, especially if you walk your dog and go long-distance

Wonderful open space with lots of activities aimed at young children, we visited today as they had a viking experience on during Easter half term. Our children enjoyed dressing up, making swords and shields and the activity pack was a lovely touch. The indoor cafe offers a great variety of hot and cold drinks, treats and pocket money toys.

Great place for the kids to play. Lots to do, nice walks, nature to watch, cheap parking, food and drinks available.
