Amazing school, amazing staff. My son enjoyed every day at this school, he made great progress in all subjects including ones he found challenging. He had the benefits of great teaching, and wonderfull experiences outside of school which gave him a solid grounding for the next stage of his life in secondary school .

I am so impressed with my grandson’s school – it has a lovely, positive atmosphere and the children seem happy and eager to learn. The current Plastic in the Sea display has to be seen to be believed – so talented. The school does not shy away from sensitive social issues and explains, sometimes horrific, news events in child-appropriate language. The Harvest Assembly last week was inspirational and all the children felt included. Last year’s Armistice Poppy display was wonderful and the children understood the message. The early morning Shake Up and Wake UP activity is fantastic! All the staff, including the Head and many of the parents join in – the children enter the classrooms with big grins on their faces – surely an accomplishment in itself! The children receive appropriate praise and the quiet, good child is not overlooked. The grounds are inspiring, clean and tidy with excellent equipment and planting. Parents are made to feel welcome and teachers are positive and friendly. Thank you High View for giving my grandson a super childhood.- Cecilia Collier

When my daughter started her education at High View I was delighted and now years are showing how excellent is there. Wonderful and devoted staff with fantastic Head Teacher Mrs Dorian-Kemp always go above to give the children the best. Every morning starts with breakfast club, where wonderful and kind ladies greet everyone with a smile and healthy, delicious and varied meals. Later is wake and shake with all teachers and kids /and even parents too :)/ dancing on the playground. In the afternoons there are lots of varied clubs, where children can learn so many fantastic things. There is always something going on, trips, assemblies, meetings, where you can pop in for a coffee and a chat. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. Especially I love assemblies where every! child has a part, beautiful costumes, decorations, music- many of us, parents were in happy tears seeing our wonderful, happy children. You can always speak with the teacher with every concern.I must mention how beautiful and clean is there:)In my opinion High View is absolutely the best primary school you could dream of for your child.I would like to thank everyone from the staff, keep up the good work - you are really amazing!

The school is the best primary school that we have ever had in Efford. My grandson was very happy there and was provided a great foundation for the future. The school is only as good as it is as a result of the hard work of the headteacher, teachers and staff. High View children within the community are also always polite.

Awful school if your child has any problems, head will think of you as a waste of her resources and probably tell you that to your face as she did with us!Children are bullied by the teachers, but then the teachers are bullied by the head who is very two-faced - all smiles to your face if you fit in her school, but a nasty bit of work otherwise that will do all she can to get you out of her school.School is run like a prison, even the teachers have a bell that they must work to! If your child needs to go toilet (not that they get chance to drink), it's unlikely they will be allowed - mentioned by a lot of parents in playground! The children have any self-esteem and confidence bullied out of them, if they write neatly, but a little slowly they will be chastised about being slow, if they write faster but less neatly they will be chastised for their work being untidy - they just can't win and will often be kept in at break and lunch time!My child is psychologically traumatised by the school and terrified of the head after she shouted at us in the public entrance because her teacher was giving her prescribed medicine. This encounter continued in the heads office, where she continued to shout at us, could not be reasoned with, and tried to bully us out of the school. An official complaint was lodged by us against the head Mrs Kim Dorien-Kemp, but as usual the school closed ranks. However a lot of the local agencies are aware of the way she behaves, some having been subjected to it themselves, and we had support with our complaint from several of them.Should be renamed High View State Penitentiary.

I am really impressed with High View. My son started a few months ago and his speech has come on so much. He is happy to go in everyday and comes home telling us about all the things he has learnt. He has made lots of friends and always runs to the door excited to be going in. The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble!
