ARU Cambridge

A great University with a variety of courses unlike some, that lead to a bright future for most careers. The downsides to this university is the lack of communication, the favouritism of certain tutors with students and the feeling that there could be more lectures for the amount we pay for. I hope the acting course gives more practical elements and more detail on how to get into the industry and helps actors to get on spotlight. Despite this, I feel this is a good place to study especially for those who want to live at home because it is cheaper yet you can still be independent.

Good facilities, teachers and student life/support

the admission process was quite simple compared to other universities. i got my cas and my place in the university. i love how they always show care and support to their apirants. i would recommend this uni to anyone.

Photography staff NOT in attendance at my daughters 2023 graduation. DISGUSTING!!!At our tour of the photography dept before my daughter signed up for the course in 2020, we were assured tutors were available all the time to help. They ARE NOT! Kirsten in particular ignored emails throughout the entire 3 year course. My daughter got the highest grade so, overall, she got what was desired BUT that was due to a LOT of self teaching. Lauren (tutor) was AMAZING and responded to emails most of the time. Be warned, this might be a full time course but you do hardly any hours on campus and are expected to figure out stuff on your own with little to no relevant feedback. NOT worth almost £30k debt for the very little work on campus and tutors unwilling to help. My advice would be to learn elsewhere.

If you are a foreigner they will make you work 2 paygrades higher but pay you the lowest possible wage they can. They will renovate way too often and buy furniture that doesn't last so they keep buying more all the time for no good reason. They will build massive new buildings and tell you they don't have any money in the budget. They will not care if students have to wait over 15+ days because your service is so understaffed. They will give you zero credit for trying to pick out the most distressed students' queries and present useful data analysis. But if you British they will celebrate your work even if you put half the effort in.

If you want sanity please avoid this place. I studied here in 2015 for a Master in public Health. I passed all my courses except for one .the research proposal which I failed really badly.mind you I am a first class honors bachelor student. On inquiry why I had failed really badly they said that that my content was too wide,that I should have narrowed it down. Why didn't my supervisor tell me this when she was supervising my project..anyway..when I also sent one of the lectures an email over the weekend,when she saw me the next week she approached me an literally screamed at me not to contact her over the weekend as she doesn't work. Mind you I had just sent a polite reminder and had asked her the question on a weekday, which she didn't reply.i spent over 10,000 pounds here but the quality of education was just not worth it.

I did my PhD here. This is a business more than a university. Expect a lack of support and to have the worst prolonged struggle of your life (emotionally, financially, professionally..). Only go here if you are desperate and have no other option. I wish I had read this review before attending!If you are thinking about doing a PhD here, you should know that there are Associate Lecturers at the university that are homeless. As in, they literally live in a tent in one of the local fields. When I was an ASL, I would have to do deliveroo and work at pizza hut to make ends meet. So I would teach in the day then go work at the local pizza hut! I dreaded the possibility of seeing my students there (and Cambridge is a small place so the likelihood of that was pretty high). I'm saying this to paint a picture of what you should expect.I would also say, look into the colleagues in your department and the reputation they have in the community. Again, I wish I did this before hand. Of course, academia is a small world and you get known by association, so make sure they are not leaders of a pseudoscience field.

The ARU did not manage to enroll me as an international student.They simply forgot me which concluded into me not being able to apply for a visa as well as accommodation, additionally I am now wasting 1 semester waiting to enroll myself for another university because it’s now too late to enroll somewhere else. Not only have I given up my apartment as well as my job in order to move to Cambridge I am also now not able to finish my studies in standard period of time, which in general is reducing the quality of my final degree. It has been nothing but stressful to apply as well as to contact someone from the university who could help me.All of my emails haven’t been responded to and no calls have been picked up from November 2022 until January 2023.For everyone wanting to go to Cambridge save yourself the stress and go somewhere worth seeing.Gabriel Anisiei

Absolutely appalling do not go to this university for your nursing degree! Ask any of the last 3 year students

Don't fall in scam or fake advertising..I lost my 2 year because of this university.!!!Please please please!!I repeat every one not to go to there!!!After paying fees they won't give any interviewsAfter a long time they will take an interview and surely we will fail that's their policy...And we won't get fees refunded until we beg them for an yearSo please please please... I repeat don't fall in their trap
