In just three weeks Brendan and his team turned around sketch and construction drawings, with submissions for certificate of lawful development and building control. He was professional and responsive, creating an ideal result in record time. If you are doing a home conversion project I can highly recommend this company for design and structural engineering.

Very poor service. First the surveyor turned up at the property with no pen, paper, tape measure or ladder. Then we got a scrappy 2 side scan of hand written calculations accompanied by an invoice (no phone call to see if we were happy before invoicing or anything like that).Unfortunately we were not happy with the service we received and to add insult to injury when we explained that we were waiting for feedback as our builder had described their report as barely adequate" and we wanted to be sure that the steel fabricators were not going to need extra information before we settled the bill- the first guy got very angry on the phone and ranted at me and then the other one emailed threatening legal action for an invoice that was 3 weeks late!Aside of all of this - they are not cheap at all. The second quote they sent me (that we will not be taking them up on!) was more than double that quoted by their competitors."

Brendan, Des and Jonathan have all been a pleasure to deal with, answered all of our questions and produced top quality engineering plans for our extension and loft conversion.

Brendan was extremely helpful in examining an issue picked up in a homebuyer’s survey (conducted by another company)After no luck getting replies from other Structural Engineers in the Brighton area, I attended the Howard McCall office in Brighton where Brendan was more than happy to help me.Brendan was stacked with work at the time, but was still happy to attend the property and turn around a report within 24 hours. This quick work allowed us to progress our property purchase in time to meet the stamp duty deadline, which saved us about 14k. Brendan was able to assess and explain the issue picked up in the survey in layman's terms which allowed us to understand what may need to be remediated in the future.
