Since moving to Putney, Trevor has cut my keys, repaired my shoes, fixed my purses, and even glued an art project for me! He is reliable, honest about what can be done, and goes the extra mile. For example, he recently breathed new life into my favorite pair of boots. I had asked for my soles to be reattached, and he went further to also touch up the sides so that they look new again. So very thoughtful!

Mr Poole repaired my son's leather sole Italian shoes which were in a pretty bad state. He did the repair the same day and at a fair and reasonable price. When he'd done them they looked like new. I consider he provided an excellent service.

I went in to enquire whether Mr Poole could make a repair to a handbag. Sadly he was unable to do so as he did not have the correct machinery to do what I needed. He did, however, give me some very sound advice about the potential cost of such a repair and offered a suggestion for how to deal with it myself. He then snipped off a piece of redundant plastic piping before we embarked on a long and friendly chat about the shop, the little man in the window and how long he had been there, how I used to bring my children's shoes for repair in the 1970s and just how much Putney had changed in the last 50 years. Such a friendly service from a tradesman who values his customers, and the tradition of cobblers serving the needs of the community. Deserves a commendation!

I’ve been going to J Poole and Son since they opened 46 years ago. Every pair of shoes have been expertly repaired and repairs last a ridiculously long time - they always go the extra mile to make sure your shoes look like new! As for prices, they wipe the floor with their competitors - I simply would consider going anywhere else!

I had a fantastic experience at Poole & Son in Putney. Trevor, the skilled cobbler, with over 40 years experience , truly went above and beyond to help me fix my son's football shoe. It turned out to be the best thing he has done! Trevor understood how sentimental the shoe was for my son and how important it was for his game. He worked diligently and managed to fix it within just 2 hours, just in time for the match! My son was overjoyed and scored a goal with his lucky shoe. Trevor's accommodating nature and swift service made the entire experience a delight. I highly recommend this talented cobbler in Putney for anyone in need of shoe repairs or alterations.
