The Farmer's Boy
I took my mother who suffers from dementia for lunch today (20th May 2023) at the Farmers boy . The staff were amazing and the food was fabulous. The 2 ladies working today were so accommodating, as they could see my mum was confused and needed extra support . Our food was delivered super fast making the experience of taking mum out that little less stressful. Thank you so much for making our lunch time great! If I could give more stars I would .. it's not often you eat at a pub and they take into consideration dementia patients . Will definitely be returning !

Food was amazing venison and lamb sausages on the Christmas menu. Great for the kids also a very good menu,Was welcomed with a smile. Deserts were also worth every penny. Only only one thing to adjust was the 1 way walk from the car park to the front door of the pub the barrier was moved so had to go under the barrier with a kid which isnt the easiest to get to the front door. Will be back lovely food and very reasonably priced.

Nice place to eat in the countryside great food, especially for those who have a gluten-free diet. Staff friendly. We went during the weekday nice and quiet even watched the Red kites soaring in the skies.

Pretty little pub near dunstable downs. Cheap and good quality food. The fish and chips were lovely!

Went there last Sunday and we had the pleasure of Mary looking after us. There was 12 of us, paying for drinks separately and meals. Nothing was a problem for Mary and she was a totally pleasant lady. Also the food was beautiful, all fresh vegetables and tender meat. Thank you for a thoroughly pleasant afternoon. I'll be back very soon.

We wanted somewhere new to meet as a family and celebrate a relative’s birthday. We had driven past the Farmer’s Boy on a regular basis, but had never been there, so decided to give it a try. We were so pleased we did. What a great experience. The food was really good - it was a Sunday so there were 5 or more options for a roast dinner, but which also could be ordered in different sizes. The portions were extremely generous so no-one went hungry! The optional Cauliflower Cheese (extra cost) could easily have been shared by four as a side dish. In addition to the roasts, there was a good selection of fairly traditional pub food, including liver & bacon and fish & chips. The pudding selection was also good and again the portion sizes were generous. The service was excellent with very polite, engaging and cheerful staff and the environment was clean, tidy and well maintained. We really enjoyed our visit and, if the number of people coming and going during our time there is any indication, it is a very popular venue with the locals. One interesting element I have not seen before was the copious number of board games available to play whilst visiting. Our table had a Bond themed Trivial Pursuits game which we enjoyed whilst waiting for our food.Overall, for six of us, the cost was just over £150. This was for two courses and a drink, and was very reasonable given the generous portion sizes. We’ll definitely be going there again and would highly recommend it.

We had a big family dinner at the Farmers Boy Sunday afternoon and the Sunday roast was delicious! Leanne and team provided a great, friendly and fast service despite there being so many of us. Leanne in particular is a real credit to the pub going the extra mile to make sure our meal was pleasant throughout.

Fabulous meal tonight with family. Mary served us and she’s a real star. Great banter and she’s just the loveliest person. She has the rare knack of knowing her audience and served with enthusiasm, humour and warmth. She made our night! Food is plentiful and the vibe is relaxed and really friendly. It’s not the first time we’ve been here and it won’t be our last!
