Perch Pond
lovely walk alongside this pond on both sides of it. There are stables on the south side but the path a bit narrow. More of a small lake than a pond. Ducks Mallards, swans and of course seagulls galore

Perch Pond is a quiet reasonably large stretch of water set within Wanstead Park. Like the other ponds within the park it's contours are followed by natural paths that are easy to navigate although avoid trying to get a wheelchair or buggy down the pathway between Perch Pond and the parallel residential road as this path is narrow with exposed tree roots that would make passage difficult. Other pathways are fine being the natural gravel which lies below the grass. Easy to navigate especially when dry. Perch Pond has a nice grassy side to it where you can sit while watching the bird life on the water. A nice place to relax during the summer with the Ornamental Waters, The Heronry Pond and the Shoulder of Mutton Pond all within a relatively short walking distance.

Always good to see the wildlife, tree, plants and everything else that goes with great open spaces. Just a shame that the city of London don't do a great job of maintaining it. A lot of volunteers do the littler picking, looking after the I'll swans, geese, ducks and other living things.
