Now I've had time to calm down, here goes.Thursday 12th October, had call from salesman, Mark MacMillan, to tell me that Mazda MX5 was still available. Had told me that he had another person booked for test drive tomorrow at 11am, so we decided to drive to Derby from Birmingham that afternoon. Although this vehicle, was £1700 dearer than one we had just missed out on, it was exactly the same year, model and colour we wanted, but having done 11,000 miles less and with a 12 month Mazda warranty thought that it was worth the 130 mile round trip.Bird Poo on roof when we arrived. Mark opened car. My wife seat inside while I looked under bonnet. Inside of car smelt damp, engine bay dirty with orange/brown staining to paint down drainage channels. Car had not been valeted.As I work at a motor factors myself, I had checked vehicle history. Car had failed mot in 2022 on brakes all round. I mentioned this to Mark that vehicle had new discs and pads all round. He didn't know. My wife mentioned the heated seats, he know that vehicle had them.I had test drive. Car drove very nicely. I asked Mark where the single disc CD player was, he couldn't find it, and said that it didn't have one. I have since found out that it does. It is between the seats.Got back from test drive, Mark left us with the keys to have a good look around car, while he did a hand over with another customer. Driver's seat belt didn't retract properly. Driver's seat badly worn and cracking. Deep scratch on driver's door step. Bottom left side of touch screen crazing. Vanity mirrors caked in orange/brown dust/dirt. Orange/brown staining to paint all round boot aperture. Plastic tray for tools/puncture kit missing. Puncture kit bag damp to touch. Puncture solution out of date. Some boot mat retaining clips missing. Under vehicle, orange/brown colour to chassis, was this rust or same as on vanity mirrors, drain channels, boot aperture. Has this car been kept somewhere damp and muddy?I have been driving for 43 years, so I have purchased a few car in that time. All previous cars I have got from dealers, have been spotlessly clean and were being sold by knowledgeable salesman.This being a Mazda dealership, we expected the car to be spot on, but unfortunately dirty, with many faults and a salesman who didn't know much about the vehicle. The vehicle is still up for sale two weeks on, reduced by £300.Beechwood lost a £15,000 sale and I wasted an afternoon and £22 in petrol.

Avoid at all costs. Everything you imagine when you think of used car salespeople. Will agree one price with you then once they know you don’t have any other options, suddenly the price changes. Will lie to you as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. If you still can, walk away now.

I found the CX5 I wanted online at BeechwoodAnd Rob made the process so quick and easy, it was all done in a few hours, including part exchanging my MX5.I only wished they were my local dealer as it was a 300 mile round trip. Great experience from start to finish in purchasing my MX5 . Barry dealt with the sale … really professional and patient . I did not feel pressured into anything . Car was a great price and in pristine condition as was a used car . Would definitely recommend.

I recently went to view an approved used mx5 at Beechwood Mazda and dealt with an extremely friendly and helpful salesman called Barry. I didn't go through with it in the end, but this was absolutely nothing to do with the service he provided or their vehicle (just personally changed my mind). I wouldn't usually write a review, but Barry certainly deserves recognition for his fantastic service and attitude. No pushy sales tactics and made me feel extremely welcome and valued. Many thanks and if me or anybody I know is looking for a new or approved used Mazda, I'll certainly send them your way!

Bought a used Mazda CX-5 from Beechwood Mazda remotely. The whole process could not have been easier. I first contacted Beechwood Mazda to enquire on a vehicle I was interested in, but unfortunately that vehicle had just been sold. Richard Brown reached out and found out a little more about what I was looking for, and not long after made me aware of a vehicle coming in meeting my exact specifications and price point. Communication and service was first class throughout, extremely helpful and responsive and at no point did I feel any pressure to purchase. Delighted with my new (to me) car. Special mention to Richard and Mark MacMillan for outstanding service. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a Mazda.
