Thrifty Car and Van Rental Basildon

Poor serviceFirst of all staff are pretty unfriendly and don’t deliver customer service. They demanded lots of paperwork however I only have paperless bills so that first of all caused an issue and their attitude was cold and not engaging nearing on rudeTook the car back and they found two tiny scratches on the wheel and charged 170 poundsTeam member was rude and zero customer service skillsHave rented many cars before but never experienced service like thriftyAvoid at all costs

Appalling car rental company, they sent a 4x4 for some reason then when the very rude man came to collect the car he claimed my wife had scuffed the wheels. This was not true at all. After reading very similar complaints from other customers this seems to be a common practice by Thrifty, I will never go near them again!

Used thrifty in Tampa, was a joke, didn’t get what we paid for, was told to take any car, and when I said what I’d paid for I was told we don’t have one! service was shocking, trying to complaint and get no respond from customer services,

Awful place. Rented a car because they were cheap, and then found out why. They charged me £85+VAT for a half inch scratch on the alloy wheel that I didn't do. It was so small there was no way it would have been spotted on the initial inspection. Staff were moody and not very helpful. Go over the road to Enterprise and pay a few pounds more for a decent experience.

When you book with this company the price is very cheap. Don't be fooled.When you return it they charge you loads of damage charges. Their excess is very high.Use another company saves yourself money.

Car supplied was great but service from staff was beyond rude and uninterested. When reporting was treated with little to no interest and dismissed by the customer service lady behind desk. Would not recommend as when issue happen they do not care.

Awful!Rent a car that has never been provided and no relevant elements provided by the guy in reception to explain the reason why. I had to go through the customer service of the website I booked the car throught to get a refund (rentalcars, very helpful). They contacted the branch that was not able to provide a reason for refusal the...To avoid by all means.Europcar, Hertz are not that far, no bad surprise and much better service!

They pretend they charge low rental. But when you take the car back they charge you a great deal of money. Do not rent from them you lose so much.their staff are rude .

DO NOT USE! When I went to collect my vehicle they seem to be in a hurry to get me out, however when I brought the vehicle back they had all the time in the world to check the vehicle over with a fine tooth comb. I had already pointed out some of the damage that they had missed on their paperwork, however they spotted something I had missed and am now being charged for it. If you have no choice in who you use CHECK your vehicle extremely carefully before you leave and if possible take pictures.

After reading some of the other reviews I nearly did not rent from Thrifty because of the feedback. My experience with them was great and I would definitely use them again. I needed a car for 10 days. The lady at reception was very friendly and took us round the car pointing out damage. We did spot some not on their sheet so she updated it, we were not rushed in any way. When we dropped the car back it was just under full but the man serving us suggested popping to the petrol station to fill up as their rates are understandably higher. I dropped it at 5:20pm and they close at 5:30pm. I said I would not be able to do it in 10 mins and he said it was not issue and he would wait which he did. (though for the £5 of fuel it needed, I should have just paid the £2 per ltr they charge.He then checked the car, no damage was noted (as I'd done none) and that was it.My experience, Great car at great price,, great staff, great company.
