Toolstation Reading Whitley

My colleague arrived at store 8 mins before close, I recieved a phone call 2 mins before they closed that they advised him card only not cash, I advised I would do a click and collection online immediately and this would take no more than 2 mins to process, I over heard my colleague being instructed to leave the store as they were now closed (they were not).I got put on speaker and said *my colleague arrived before close I'm doing a click and collect now which he can collect it will take no more than 2 mins*, again he said please leave.I then stated I used to work for toolstation I know a few of the managers in this area and the process,my colleague arrived before you closed I'm putting the order in now at this point my colleague stood up for himself and the manager stopped arguing and seemed to accept I was correct. At 4 mins past close the order was taken.The lady cashier was very was fantastic and exstreemly pleasant, the new store manager on the other hand was far from polite or accommodating so here is some top tips for better customer service in the future.Advise the customer card only on entry to store 8 mins before close.To manager don't be so confrontational to your customer instead try to help, and understand the customers consumer rights.

Good if you know what you want but the young staff should be more clued up with what they are selling! Should have gone to screwfix in the first place where they helped me find what I needed

Good customer services very kind and helpful, Usually served by scott & Alongside one of the Lady that works whom again is very kind, Knowledgeable on the products required and professional customer services. Sometime may not have stock from time to time so you gotta order or sometime go to the other branch, although they are the best and would Reccomend 100%

I see why Toolstation has grown so quickly. Customer service gives it the edge and will always draw repeat business. Attentive, and proactive. Nothing is a problem and they go out of their way to help. Good coffee from free vend in the corner. Hope they get to see this as they are good at what they do.

Went in to buy an all new locking mechanism for a door. I did not have a clue what i was buying. Mike was fantastic, he found exactly what I needed no problem all while keeping to social distance rules. Great service in or out of lockdown, first time buy but definitely not my last!!
