Cleland Park Surgery
A total bureaucratic nightmare to deal with. They use a first-in first-seen approach with no regard to the medical problem at hand. No triage nor any prioritisation based on the urgency of the medical problem... More akin to a butcher's shop queue than a medical establishment's!Archaic booking system for which you have to call at 8.30 and hope to not get a busy line. Called at 8.31? No chance! Try again tomorrow or go to a&e, not their problem.Needless to say, no online booking process!Save your time, sanity and health and go somewhere else

I cannot fault the receptionists and I have little experience of the doctors, except one.I had approached my GP nearly two years ago with a quite specific condition and it's been a nightmare ever since between getting the GP to follow up on referrals, the Newtownards Hospital and medication. When I mentioned my current medication was less effective, I was offered an alternative and asked if I thought it would be alright.I'm not a pharmacist or a chemist but I have discovered that the current medication may adversely affect patients with liver disease, of which I am one. I am also exhibiting side effects which are contrary to the purpose of the medication.I have remained in regular contact with my GP during the transition to the new medication which has worsened my condition. Each time I answer the GP's phone call, I am asked to give it another couple of weeks.I am only one of many patients and I don't believe I require specialised service each time. I just feel as though each call by the GP is completing a tick-box list.I have chosen to move to a different surgery as I genuinely feel it cannot get any worse. For the record, my previous GP in Belfast was informative and kept on top of things. I would get calls from the surgery asking to make an appointment to see him if new information was available. The Belfast GP kept on top of new developments, performed minor surgeries and was in high demand because he cared for the patients under his responsibility. I miss those days.

Absolute shambles, day 3 of attempting to get a serious issue addressed and still haven't got speaking to someone. Being forced to pay to go to a private gp.Avoid at all costs if you have anything more than a minor ailment you won't be taken seriously

We are delighted to be with this practise . Have nothing but praise for them. If we have had a medical issue , we have always been helped and called back, and tests done ,promptly and with empathy Doctors and nurses are great and receptionists always helpful and pleasant .

Disgusting service ! Was unregistered without notification and refused medication for my mental health! Was promised help after taking two days off work to deal with getting a new doctors and spoken to by their reception staff like a second class citizen ! Had to pay for a private prescription to obtain my usual medication via a lovely gp not related to this surgery ! Complaint already being taken to general medical council ! Disgusted with their service !

A wonderful practice...even during lock down.....if I phone early I will always get a Dr to call me....then it's decided if I need to be seen....what more do you want? ..the receptionist do all they can to help..often under extreme pressure. The doctors themselves are kind and patient.I'm so glad to belong to this practice.

Had a few bad experiences with this surgery but the last straw was when I phoned to speak to my Dr. When I got the call back my phone was in my pocket. I didn't even get the chance to answer they hung up so fast. I phoned back and immediately explained the situation to be told the phone rang until voice mail. Basically called me a liar whilst lying herself. Shocking service.

Was with this Drs since I was 4years old I’m now 29, moved to Scotland 3years ago and I honestly miss this practise the understanding and patience they have Dr Howe, Dr Cobain, and Dr Abraham honestly all brillant they really took time to listen to my symptoms I’ve Suffered with mental health etc and they always took time to understand and listen what’s been happening etc fair enough getting an appointment isn’t easy but you need to be on the ball first thing in the morning everything changed slightly when covid came but even the telephone triage first then an appointment if necessary honestly the practise was great and all the Drs wish more Drs where like cleland park
