Buscot Lock
The lock was built in 1790 and is the smallest on the River Thames and still has its heavy wooden beams which the lock keeper uses to open and close the gates. The lock keeper's cottage was built in 1791 and features a fish house. The area is rich in flora and fauna, and a frequent haunt for otters, kites, kingfishers and swan's.There were quite a few people swimming at Buscot Weir (weir pool where water cascades over a small fall), The national trust has put a willow fence change area for swimmers. They say you should be a strong swimmer to swim here, definitely not for beginners.Buscot Weir Car Park is a National Trust car park, free for members but pay and display for non-members.This is such a lovely place, we were really surprised at how nice and well kept it was. You should definitely visit this place if you're in the Buscot area.

The kids love coming here enjoyed playing in the water. It's a lovely walk around also watching the boats go through the locks. Only thing I would suggest is that there are some more bins, as there's one at the top by the car park which is always over flowing. Also on a nice day get there early to get parking.

Loved it - took my mum here. It's a nice summer place to visit - wouldn't take more than hour unless you bring a picnic basket and stretch it out. The don't have permanent loos that I can see (though some portaloos were provided - not the posh kind though!). There isn't a cafe here but there is one a short walk away. It looks like there is a longer walk you can take in the vicinity though we didn't try it.

Nice place for a walk. You can make it as short or long of a walk, as you can walk along the river. Nice tea room closeby.

Buscot Lock
Beautiful place for a walk and picnic. When the weather is nice you can swim in the water it is shallow for a fair amount and does get deeper. There is a good park for kids. And you can see some horses and ponies. It is beautiful to watch the boates and there are lots of picnic benches. The tea room there is amazing. The panini's are to die for! Parking is £2 for 2 hours or £4 for the whole day.
