We came here despite the reviews because we thought 'it can't be that bad, its what you make of it' and trust me you don't want that mindset coming here. Its disgusting. It's filled with abandoned caravans, trailers, tents, there's loads of tips of just rubbing thrown about places. There is an empty field area where they tell you to go if you don't want electricity and want 'quiet' but there are NO toilets ANYWHERE NEARWe paid over £70 to stay here for 2 nights and left after driving around looking for a place to set up our tent, asked for a refund, the receptionist lady was really nice and gave our refund which we were so thankful for.

2nd time wild camping here and I love it. Just what I wanted away from everything. People are friendly. Yes the toilets and showers are very basic but they are cleaned every day. . We went into Barrow-on-soar, then food at The Mooring pub . Walked around the site and canal. All in all I came here for relaxation and got it. I've booked for 3 nights August Bank Holiday so back here again soon. Can't wait. Plus I can afford to get away on a regular basis. Who knew i would love wild camping.

It's good for the price. When we arrived we realised that reception was closed and neither the normal or the emergency number was picking up. There is a lot of junk everywhere including old cars, tyres and lawnmowers etc. We had a good few days here although we were a 15 minute walk from the toilets. It's okay for a short stay and the surrounding area is really nice.

Had a lovely time here and for the money you really can’t fault it.Yes it’s slightly run down and could use someTLC. But there are hot showers, toilets (take your own loo roll!) and lovely walks in the area. It’s a basic campsite and very good value for money.

Interesting mix of mobile homes, live aboard boats, caravans, motorhomes and storage. Then to top it all large open fields surrounded by the River Soar. Beautiful, Great campsite

Stayed for two nights. Toilets were smelly but relatively clean. The Club House" looked run-down from the outside and said "Cash Only" on the door so we never went in. Didn't see a shower block and the chemical toilet disposal point was not near the toilet block

Beautiful location right on the River Soar and Grand Union Canel. Proctors Park has a beautiful fishing lake also.

Very much a residential park and not touring. The whole place is tired. Seems to be a lot of junk and rubbish around and loads of seemingly abandoned caravans. There seems to be a lot of permanent residents who were friendly so the place must have some positive points but we couldnt find them.Toilets - very old, smelly but relatively clean. The bar looked abandoned. Found only one chemical disposal point on the whole site.Didnt find showers & wouldnt have used then given state of rest of the place.A6 is nearby and very loud as is the music at night from the pub just outside the site but that could have been where we sited.Shame really, this place should be a star and could be with some money spent on it.Had to call a mobile on arrival as no one was about and were more or less told to find a pitch and get on with it. Didnt see anyone all weekend which wasnt really a problem. In summary -Was it okay ? Only justWould we go again - God, No!

Booked this site for bank holiday, paid and drove around to find a spot to camp. Well , the site was awful, lots of run down caravans, abandoned caravans, long grass, rubbish tips, only one set of toilets miles away from anywhere, we took dogs, no bins only a mass of overfull bins near reception.we couldn't find any nice views, whole place look run down and tired. We decided not to stay, the lady on reception was lovely and refunded our money straight away. Not be returning. Went elsewhere.

For us this place is fantastic. We booked Grass no electric for 2 nights over the weekend. Cost us £29. If you have your own facilities then definitely book this site. The on-site facilities definitely need modernisation and we refused to use them. It is like a caravan graveyard in the storage area but drive further into the site and there are some cracking pitches. Great site for groups and letting the children roam. Safe with a barrier. There is some road noise from the A6 if you park near it but there is plenty if pitches away from it.Great views over the lakes. There is a really nice walk along the river/canal at the entrance to the site. If you want a good cheap site on a stop over or weekend then definitely book this place. Make sure to bring your own facilities and dogs welcome.
