I was dreading the whole thing as I had had a terrible experience with my solicitor when buying my first home, but Lois was always in contact, transparent and on the ball. I am also selling another property with Lois and my solicitor and I feel confident with Lois in my corner! I will recommend Lois and Mincoffs LLP to everyone!

The worst experience I’ve ever had with conveyancing. Very poor communication and a culture of being very rude to clients. The person handling my sale went on maternity leave and hadn’t informed me they were planning to do that. They didn’t ask the questions I’d asked them to of the seller regarding extending the lease, had terrible commutation skills, and were replaced with someone very inexperienced also with terrible client relation skills. Throughout the process of the sale my questions weren’t answered, the first person wouldn’t return my calls or respond to the question I had asked about extending the lease even in an email. I was dismissed and told ‘it’ll be covered in the document I’m sending you’ which took weeks to arrive and did not raise the specific question I had asked from the start regarding extending the lease, by which point she had left for maternity leave.I almost lost the sale as the replacement solicitor handling it also did not ask that question. Just before exchanging contracts, it had been presented to the seller as me dropping that question in last minute. She handled that by simply forwarding a very annoyed email from the seller saying they were pulling out. No apology for having not made that question clear from the start, no advice, no strategy on how to progress, just a cut and paste copy of the email from the seller. Also when I had quieried previous issues I was told ‘they didn’t advise clients on how to proceed’. So what were they being paid for? I used Mincoffs on recommendation from an estate agent. I will never use them again.By stark contrast, O’Niels solicitors in North Shields and Deans Solicitors in Edinburgh were both reliable and efficient, gave me excellent advice during the conveyancing process and they don’t treat their clients as if they’re an inconvenience. I certainly would never recommend Mincoffs for conveyancing. There are plenty of other good solicitors in the north east to choose from.

A huge thank you to Mincoffs, especially Lois. So professional from beginning to end with regular updates and always answering my emails promptly. This sale was very hard for us as a family with it being our parents home, which my father built for us 44 years ago. I can honestly say the best Solicitors I have ever used and would recommend their services to anyone. Thank you so much xx
