The Bearwood Veterinary Clinic
Extremely disappointed with Bearwood vets. My cat has been registered there for 17 years. We haven't needed their services for a very long time as our cat was in good health. Recently she stopped eating and seemed in pain so I took her there and although she is an old cat, nothing was suggested or done for her to make her feel more comfortable. Absolutely NOTHING! The vet said she is not in pain and it would be extremely difficult to pin point what's wrong unless we do some tests which he didn't even offer to do. I said she is not eating though so what do I do ? See if she gets worse and come back. I got charged 50 pounds for no help, no medication, nothing. It was if though they were saying wait for her to die. I actually told the receptionist we might have to put her to sleep so I don't need another appointment for now. Anyway as I couldn't leave my like that, I took her to PDSA as I qualified for it and they were amazing. Night and day. They did blood test, said SHE WAS IN PAIN with arthritis as all she did was press on her hips for my cat to react. She has possible kidney disease. They gave her medication for pain and for liss of appetite. She is much better now, has started to eat again.Bearwood Vets, where is the duty of care, the compassion?? You don't just give up on an animal because they are old. Don't assume someone cannot pay for treatment, at least offer help, solutions, anything ! Why couldn't Bearwood vets do what another vet at PDSA did ?

I wish I could put 0 stars. As with many other reviews the vets are completely incompetent and misdiagnose regularly. I took my dog 12 months ago about a lump and was assured “it’s just a fatty lump don’t worry”. 12 months later and with a new vets my 4 year old dog has 2x mast cell cell cancer tumours which has potentially spread. £5000 later and she still may not make it.Our new vets stated they’d never be comfortable telling a pet owner not to worry about something that was not properly investigated. I always thought you could trust vets but please ANY medical advise you get from this place GET A SECOND OPINION. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. A simple double check or biopsy could have avoided all of this but they simply cannot be bothered and would rather brush you off. The foreign vet was rude, abrasive and in hindsight not concerned about the welfare of my dog.Avoid this place at all costs please for the sake of your pet. This place truly needs to be shut down.

My kittens were very relaxed and calm during consultation. The vet was lovely with them.

It’s a worrying time when your pet is ill but I was in safe hands. The team listened to my concerns with kindness, and the clinician acted promptly to diagnose and treat. I feel thoroughly supported and confident that our necessary ongoing care will be as excellent as it has always has been.

We cannot recommend this vets enough. Every single staff member is kind and compassionate to both ourselves and our dog. They’ve been so honest and clear about everything our dog has needed, including throughout his entire neutering process (even giving him some cuddles before he went back for the procedure). We are so grateful to everyone at Bearwood Veterinary Clinic and so glad they are our vets of choice

I have been coming here for over 25 years and I would not go elsewhere. As an owner you're fully involved in their care and everything is explained beforehand. Plus- your fur baby can have their photo taken for the clinic's Facebook page. I love that, even if some days Henrietta, one of the cats has decided that it's not going to be today in her case.

Friendly staff. I liked that they are all young females running it, included the vet, who's super nice. They have got an amazing kitten pack which includes 2 vaccines, flea and worm treatments, microchip and a bag of food for 69 pounds, which is really great and thoughtful. I give 4 rather than 5 stars because I had to wait for 10 something minutes for my cat to be seen though I was the only customer there. Other than that it was a great experience.

Very friendly staff, kind and understanding. They took extra special care of 15 year old Shelley and were there at the end when I had to have her put to sleep at 17.
