If you are looking to buy good quality shoes, and don't mind an unpretentious setting, Brassington Brothers will provide you with as fine a service as anyone. The Longton branch (where I usually go) is a little way from most other shops within the town, but well worth the short walk to get there.The accompanying photo is of a pair of Roamer brogue boots. I have worn them often over the course of about 6 winters now. Apart from such routine wear, whenever I have taken a city break, they adorn my feet every day. They have never chafed, and even when beating the streets up to 15 miles or so per day, my feet have never been sore or painful.I rarely go to Brassington's - and that is simply because (in my case) their shoes don't wear out as soon as many of the hippest brands do. So often, many popular brands are designed to look a certain way, but fail to support feet adequately.That is not to say that Brassington's shoes lack style - but this is balanced with the wellbeing of people in mind. As an elderly friend once made the comment you only get one pair of feet; wearing cheap clothing is rarely detrimental to the wearer - but jigger your feet up

Expect proper old fashioned excellent customer care service from friendly family run small business.They do an excellent range of footwear for all ages.If they don't have what you require they will order them in for you from their other shop in Hanley.I have bought a selection of sturdy walking boots and Dr Martens boots ranging in a variety of eye holes & leg height for either myself and the daughter.Excellent quality. Highly recommend! Getting decent footwear is imperative if you want to improve your posture and rid yourself of backache!

Called on Friday to enquire about delivery to the Isle of Man and once confirmed I ordered online. My order was dealt with very quickly and delivered today (Monday). Excellent service and a very nice company to deal with.
