Welsh food on my Wales visit! Like any tourist I was in search of a nice place to eat some local traditional food and I came across the Welsh House Cardiff. Immediately my waitress greeted me with a smile! She recommended me a Welsh beer named Shipwreck, the Welsh pot of pig appetizer and the Welsh lamb Cawl soup with sourdough bread and cheddar cheese. I loved the combination of all flavors! The Welsh house was directly in the center, great cozy environment, tasty food, and the service was the best! I fully recommend it to any tourist visiting Cardiff!

Climate place, staff very nice and helpful, but for me the food was so-so. The food wasn't made for everyone at once, the fish and chips for the child was soaked in grease as if it had been fried in cold grease. One of the dishes was not baked enough and didn't look right. The beef in the burger was okay but the dish itself was dry.

Disappointed honestly. Was excited to show my partner some Welsh food but my Welsh cakes arrived burnt and very small, didn't taste like much at all. The bread should have been free, it was just normal bread nothing special about it. Mains were nice if nothing special. But the service is what really let us down. We understood there was a bigger party but the two main servers just stood around talking to eachother and never coming to check on us. We asked for the bill and after 30 minutes of watching them talk to each other I had to get up and go pay my bill because I had to get a train in 15 minutes. Highly disappointed and I unfortunately won't be returning as it doesn't seem worth it, a real shame.

This is an absolutely amazing place! I wanted to try authentic welsh dishes, I tried the lam lb Cawl, it was amazing especially with it raining outside. Iris was my waitress and she was absolutely lovely. Also the restaurant is very cool and across from the castle and by the arcade(oldest mall). Highly recommend!!

Food was good but service super slow. Waited 10 mins before anyone looked at us to sit. Had to get my own menu. Food was good.

An absolutely fantastic evening! I stayed in Cardiff for work and thought this place looked nice for an excuse to get out of the hotel. A relaxed atmosphere, with superb service, Iris made sure I was well looked after and her recommendations didn't disappoint. I'll definitely be back next time in Cardiff.

Absolutely beautiful resteraunt, the food was amazing, the drinks were incredible. Stafff were incredibly helpful with a warm greeting, Iris served us mainly and was a credit to the resteraunt. We were celebrating quite a successful year for ourselves and the service provided made it even more enjoyable. We will be back next time we're home.

We were worried that it might be a bit gimmicky but couldn’t have been more wrong. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding - generous portions, great flavours and piping hot. Would heartily recommend.
