Rack City Ribs
Sadly went here based off Jay Rayners review (Jay, come on, you need to try better places!) and was disappointed. Ribs were dry, fatty and stuck like rubber to the bone, doused in a Sickly Sweet BBQ sauce (this is not what REAL American BBQ is like, its a little sweet but more smokey and spicy)The Brisket was not slices of meat but more like standard shredded/pulled pork, with pickles and mustard, again doused in a sweet sauce. Corn bread was nice as was the coleslaw which had orange zest in it!2 tables next to me had the Beef Rib which I thought would at least fall off the bone but alas, was hard and leathery when I checked with them.The fried chicken thighs/bun do not state in the menu that they are doused in the same sauce (should tell customers, as the missus just wanted fried chicken)I suggest Rack City rethink what US Ribs should be - Falling of the bone, SLOW smoked, tender, and tasty not like pure sugar candy made of rubber!!The main chef was on holiday, so I do wonder if this has anything to do with it, but reading some other reviews probably give these guys a miss.Edit: Shame the chef didn’t address my issue about the ribs being rubber in your reply? So is that your style too? :(

Food was good! Would recommend the pork ribs as the sauce was delicious. It's a shame when we went that they didn't have a lot of their menu in stock, as I wanted to try a few other things. Also, the place is in a tiny pub so seating is very limited.

We couldn't find the place- its inside The Dukes Head at the back. Staff are polite, friendly, and welcoming. They ran out of ribs but offered us the brisket, mac cheese and burger. It was immensely flavourful and tender. Service was attentive and friendly. There was live music in the evening. I wish the tables for the 2 person booth was bigger than a plank of wood. It would have been impossible to eat there otherwise.

What a fantastic experience! Recently discovered this gem of a place located within The Duke's Head in Highgate. We ordered the sharing platter which was shared between 3 people but could very well feed 4 or 5, it included pork ribs, beef ribs, wings, mac and cheese, coleslaw, pulled pork, corn bread and fries. The ribs were absolute perfection, so soft and tasty, as well as all the sides included in the platter. A must if you visit Highgate! I'll definitely be back for more.

Wow. Amazing, barely stopped to breathe. Delicious lovely smoked Ribs with great glazes. Felt true to American style roots. Could not fault it. Happy!Add Hash Brown Fries!

Rack City Ribs!!!! I took one bite of the Mac & Cheese and wanted to scream at the top of my lungs… my tastebuds couldn't reconcile the flavour going on in my mouth.Now listen to me when I say, I can cook! and Mac & Cheese is one of my top dishes, that gets requested. From across the table, I looked at my husband dead in his eye and said… baby… this Mac is better then mine and dropped my fork.After I recovered from the shock I pick up my fork and continue to enjoy an amazing meal. I had to meet and compliment the chef. Can't wait to get back there.

We did not eat at your restaurant but in Soho were you've associated with Zebrano. I'd like you to get an idea of how your reputation is being destroyed so please read below about our experience there:One of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. They have associated with Rack City and they are (trying) serving their food. The day we visited the menu was reduced to only 3 items. We ordered all 3 of them. After a long wait we got the chicken wings which were excellent. The sauce was amazing. This made us believe we were going to have a great meal. We could not have been more wrong. We waited for a long time. No food. They told us they were having problems because there was a big group on another floor and they could not cope with it (I went upstairs and there were no more than 15 people). Eventually we got 1 rack of ribs (of the 2 we had ordered). They were tough. Not tender at all. Meat was not falling off the bone. When we mentioned this the answer was this is the way our chef likes them". The ribs were supposed to come with hash browns and cole slaw. None of them made it to the table. We were told the 2nd rack was coming soon. We waited and waited. The chef came to talk to us to say he could only give us half a rack and that it was going to be on the house. We kept waiting. Eventually we go the half rack

This place is a hidden gem in Highgate. The food was so delicious and full of flavour. We had the mixed platter, which was really great value as the portions were very generous and the food was so tasty - a mix of authentic US BBQ dishes. Our favourite plates were the beef brisket, which was rich and melted in the mouth, and the mac and cheese, which was so addictive. The chicken wings were crispy but not dry and the pork ribs had an amazing smokey flavour. The Duke's Head is a fab American Country bar and the staff are really friendly and the drinks (especially the margs) went very well with our food. The place was clean and welcoming. We will definitely be bringing our friends so they can try it here too!

So this is a tough one to rate. We were not able to get a table to eat. The place was super busy. And just overwhelmed. We waited almost an hour to try and get a seat.The food smelled incredible as they brought it by.And the staff tried hard to get us a seat but the limited amount of tables was the issue.So awesome smelling and looking food. Very nice and polite staff, incredible atmosphere
