Had a takeaway and it was lovely. Just a short wait while the food was cooked fresh and it was delicious. Will try the restaurant soon as o have heard very good reports about it.

Fantastic food, brilliant service and lovely atmosphere. My kids were very happy to be given a jelly snake and fortune cookie each when we were leaving. Highly recommended and great value for money.

I had heard mixed reports of this restaurant but I guess you can't please everyone all the time. My own experience was faultless.Good decor and a friendly welcome. Very little waiting time from being seated to placing our order from a very good menu. Drink service was comfortably swift, soon followed by the starter course. Each dish was adequate in portion size and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly throughout. We will definitely make a return visit.

Nice food but the pricing is a little random. I had something substituted due to lack of ingredients but there was no refund for having a cheaper item. There is a promise of 10% discount for orders over £25 if you collect it yourself but I've never had that discount.

Lovely staff and decor is very sweet. The restaurant looks so much better inside. Enjoyed our meal, food came out at a good time, service was great. Very attentive staff. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Thoroughly Recommend this restaurant.1st time I've eaten here, sad that firebrand had closed, but this new restaurant has a great menu with over 170 items.Friendly staff and service was very good.I had to phone them to say we would be late and they were perfectly happy to hold our table.Best meal I've had for a long time.

Poor service, obviously a new young member of staff with no supervision had to ask for everything, including a spoon for our soup and plates to eat our starters.We choose the all you can eat buffet which you Order the same as you would ordinarily (not an actual buffet) the mains are the size of starters and the quality of the food was poor, I sent my squid back Luke warm and over cooked, I was given a replacement meal which wasn’t much better.The fried rice was like no fried rice I have ever had, not nice.All in all a poor experience.

Small, cosy, friendly, good service and the food was really nice. We chose from the Wednesday 'All You Can Eat Buffet'. Delicious and at £15.50 per person great value. Drinks were extra at normal prices.

There are so few restaurants in Launceston that we were delighted to find the Red Lantern. Please do not be put off by one or two disparaging reviews on here. We had a delicious dinner of freshly-prepared hot food at very reasonable cost (duck with ginger and spring onion and a veggie dish for me with lovely fresh veg). There is a vast choice of Chinese and ”English” dishes - the photos don’t do it justice by the way! Service was quick and staff are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended for a sit down or take away.
