Hidden gem, a great place. Friendly staff, haven’t had food yet but it looks delish, spitfire lager with many more options, boys had some homemade brownies and loved them! Huge outdoor seating at front with hot food / BBQ in summer, outdoor seating at rear, log burner, comfy, welcoming - love it!

Food was ok.Cask Beer was off, clearly the bar staff had absolutely no knowledge of real ale or pride in how it was served. On complaining about it I was told it was 'supposed to be flat'. I suspect that the Brewers at Shepherd Neame would have been dismayed at the lifeless and stale pint of MasterBrew I was served - goodness knows what had happened to it. Apparently it was a new barrel, I felt sorry for the future customers who made the misfortune of opting for it in the days to come as they had no intention of taking it off.Lots of potential here but need to work harder on the basics.

We have been here twice now, once for a Sunday roast with a table of 15 just before Christmas and it was the best pub roast I’ve ever eaten. Second time was this evening on a spur of the moment booking, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the vegan, gluten free risotto and it was absolutely divine, my partner had the pork belly and said it was perfect. It is a gorgeous historic pub, well kept and clean with a lovely atmosphere even on a weekday evening. I would not hesitate to recommend to everyone and we will definitely be back.

Utterly utterly disappointed! Don’t be fooled the kids meal is awful! £10 they charge and you get a measly 2 slices of pizza not even a whole pizza. When we complained they refused to help make the situation better. In fact all the staff ganged up on us as if it was us in the wrong. We have had to leave with two very hungry children. I can’t get over how rude and terrible it was to visit here. Will never come again. It would have been easily fixed if they had just given a full pizza. What was worse is that the waiter actually came in and said they would give us more pizza but after speaking to his manager returned to us to say they can’t. Appalled and shocked.

Service was good, food was tasty. Lovely beer garden. Classic car and bike meets there regularly. Prices were a little high compared to town pubs but this is ok as important to keep trade up for these smaller country affairs.

I'd heard really good things about this place so I came in with high expectations for the atmosphere and quality of the food. Unfortunately, it seems to have changed quite a lot in recent times. The quirky and cosy old furniture has been replaced by generic characterless chain pub rubbish, and the delicious and unique food has been replaced by typical pub fare - and not well done pub fare at that. The food, though very reasonably priced and filling, was completely underwhelming, as was the limited selection of beers. The service however was excellent, though the food took a while to appear. A real shame and a disappointing trip - I would avoid for anything other than a quick and convenient pint and snack while visiting the nearby cycle shop.P.s. allergy sufferers beware - not all ingredients are listed on the menu - the chicken burger came with surprise chilli peppers...!
