St. Leonard's Church

Pretty

This is a stunning church which I discovered on a riverside walk. St. Leonards has sadly always been closed whenever I have walked past since, but the lovely external architecture is always gorgeous to look at. I hope that one day its open when I pass but for now I can marvel at it from outside, as well as say a friendly 'hello' to a couple of the neighbourhood cats who seem to use the church yard as their playground.

A beautiful gem set deep in Wallingford's secret world.

I was so pleased to spot this above rooftops while out dog-walking. Dating back to Saxon times as the herringbone, this is the oldest church in Wallingford. The clues are also in its structure about the restoration work and creation of the tower in the 19th Century. A sweet little church with an interpretation and information board provided outside for visitors.
