The Island Newspaper in Sri Lanka. Used to be very impartial allowing freedom of expression in a beautiful small island, once known variously as the Jewel in the Indian Ocean, Granary of the East etc. devastated since by corrupt politicians reducing it to abject poverty over the past decades! It’s editor, Prabath was brilliant, ready to publish articles submitted by disgruntled readers from the diaspora living overseas about the steady decline in living standards in our beloved motherland! Sadly, not any more ! The editor has his own clique of favourites including doctors (well known to see them as the elite from another “planet”, and only those who are amongst in the limelight ! Such is the deprivation, Prabath keeps breaking his own promises to publish thought provoking articles based on true stories affecting Sri Lankans domiciled abroad. I have been living in U.K. since 1975 and became a naturalised British citizen long time ago! My recent harrowing experience of being taken to court was a classic example of miscarriage of justice by the DVLA in U.K.! I suffered immensely until being proven innocent in Court after some five years over the private sale of a car when I adhered to the legal requirements completing and posting the relevant section of the V5 which, unfortunately had gone astray! It was a very traumatic experience to discover tears later that I had been prosecuted successfully in my absence on 31 Aug 2022 at Swansea Magistrates’ Court with fines and costs awarded against me ! Finally, the case landed in Llanelli Magistrate’s Court on 10th March 2023 when the DVA Prosecutor, Mr Neil Lewis withdrew the case against me on the day without me even having to go into the witness box! Prabath promised to publish my detailed article only to backtrack in preference to accommodating his stooges! It’s final straw for me and never again I would want to waste my time!

terrible service from the lettings agents. rude advisors, non return of calls and dont seem to know what there doing in that office. will never use or contact them again!!

They specified a completion month to get me to agree to an offer, with full knowledge that the buyer had no intention to meet this date, probably costing me £000 of pounds in my transactions.They did not liaise with the solicitors and keep me informed throughout the process and blamed my solicitor for the agreed move date not being met - blatantly lying to me.They epitomise everything which is wrong with their profession.
