Essex Pottery Studio

We popped to Essex Pottery Studio with our young kids and some friends to paint some Christmas decorations. Plenty of choice what to paint and the room was well laid out (also much bigger than it looks from outside). We really enjoyed our time there and it was fairly peaceful, although we did think with the run up to Christmas it might have been nice to have some low volume tunes in the background. Only other thing (which didn't bother us) but could have been better was a choice of drinks while painting - particularly some low sugar options for the kids.A nice place to visit to do some painting, and if this is something you are interested in then we would recommend trying it out (also much less messier than doing it on the kitchen table at home!!)** Also, plenty of parking round the back and if you want to make more of your day then there is a cafe / tea shop in the barn in the same area that was also pretty good.

Really lovely pottery painting venue. Accommodated the five of us at short notice and staff helpful and friendly throughout. Really wide range of items to paint too. Will return (and not just to collect my finished items!)

Such a great place with plenty of options for painting. My 2 year old loved it. Just picked up our pottery and they look incredible. Thankyou

Amazing place. So chill. No time limits rushing you to finish, can eat in there. Just take your time and paint (or potter)

Had a great laugh making pot's at my daughters hen. But beware ,when you go to collect your pot's you either get someone else's pot or none at all. They blame you for not putting your name on the board when you know you did. So great if you don't want your memory of a fun but also expensive day .

Strongly recommended if you want to take up a new, relaxing, and decorative interest in 2022.You can spend a very pleasant couple of hours or more painting any one of the tens of objects such as bowls, ornaments, fish, cats etc in a convivial and relaxing atmosphere. We were introduced to this by a friend and it's a real gem!

Really lovely staff, very reasonably priced, gone back a few times and would go again, lovely atmosphere, snacks available, if you don't finish they allow u to come back another day. If you want to go on a weekend recommend calling to book as very popular

A wonderful environment, friendly and a great time to be had.Come here regularly with my young daughter and the time disappears.Would recommend to everyone and anyone.

My daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed a class on the potters wheel, greeted by informative and friendly staff, great workshop, returned a week later to paint our creations. Fab way to spend a couple of hours learning some new skills. Definitely recommend!
