For The Love Of Paws Dog Training

I contacted Kara last year because my lab pup got spooked by a car quite young and would refuse to go out walking. He’s a sensitive wee boy and would get a bit anxious around cars and loud noises.During our 4 sessions Kara went through some techniques to create a positive association with his collar, lead and the outdoor environment.By the end of our 4 sessions he would comfortably wear his lead around the garden.I then continued to utilise the techniques learned and now he thoroughly enjoys his walk every night. He’s also been waking on his lead in completely new environments and loves it!I have recently attended a loose lead workshop at Kara’s training field to learn ways to teach my wee boy how to walk without pulling my shoulders out the sockets lol. Whilst this is by no means a quick fix, I’ve already noticed how responsive he is to the techniques we were given. Highly recommend Kara’s services.

Just had a great Focus & Engagement Workshop with dog trainer, Kara. She is very knowledgeable and experienced and her techniques were clearly communicated and easy to understand. The dogs were kept apart which was a lesson in itself for mine, but we were all able to chat with one another and the atmosphere was relaxed but disciplined at the same time. Both Echo (9m lab) and I enjoyed the session and having now received her task sheet plan to practise regularly from now on.

I have a young lab who came to be with zero training at 8 months. We have attended a full round of classes with Kara and a recent focus workshop.Kara is very knowledgeable and has passed on tools which give both my dog and I confidence in one another.Training is so rewarding with ‘For the love of Paws’!

Kara was so lovely to work with - our little dog loved her sessions too - she gave us lots of technique suggestions and would build weekly on the ones that suited us to work with.Kara clearly cares a lot about dogs and the training is all very positive, reward based and fun for the dogs, and definitely works.Our little rescue dog has come on so well in a few weeks and also has a program now that we can work on for as long as need be even though our sessions with Kara are now finished.Highly recommended :)

Kara's training helped me identify and understand how to work through the behavioural issue that I was encountering with my dog in just a short time. She was patient and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. It was evident that my dog's welfare was always put first, right from the outset (even when organising the session). We both enjoyed the training and contrary to what I thought it would be, found it to be a very fun, relaxed and stress-free session.

Kara has been an incredible support in the training process. She is so understanding of each dogs different needs and always makes time to check in at the start and end of each class to see how the week has gone and how we are progressing. My dog is a very quick learner and gets a bit impatient if she's not being challenged. Kara is always ready to give her a task to help her progress further and challenge her.I cannot express how understanding, respectful and supportive Kara is, both of the dogs and the humans. The dogs love her and its been a pleasure to come back to different classes for further training and to help socialise with other dogs.

I recently completed a workshop with my 2 year old GSD who's a bit of a puller on the lead. It was well organised & thought out. The class was small with plenty space between us so that our dogs could concentrate on the tasks rather than the smells of the each other. I would recommend Kara to anyone looking for a dog trainer, her help doesn't end at the end of the class.

Kara provides super dog training classes, she is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very patient. I enjoy bringing my dog to her group sessions and it’s clear that my dog loves learning there too! I’m so pleased with the progress we’re making with Kara’s support and step by step training ideas. Couldn’t recommend For theLove of Paws more highly!

Such a great training programme delivered by Kara. The confidence I gained in the programme and the difference in my dog was fantastic. Yes he still big bouncy dog but getting him to calm/ stay at my side is so much easier. Even if unable to attend training, then go with what is being discussed and talked about and you will see changes.
