Found the fish, everywhere we went. Free tea and coffee, great atmosphere on board, plenty of fish caught, many keepers and others returned.

I wouldn't recommend as it seemed that the skipper wasn't interested in finding the fish. We were anchored all day in one spot which produced 9 whiting in between 8 people and couple of dog fish. I was very dissapointed as I get more fish from a beach session. All the best !!!!

Here is an email sent to Ray following our experience as a review. His website says it’s a warm and friendly service but in reality it couldn’t be different. Rays response to the below was that the trip was for experienced sea anglers- but there was absolutely no mention of this on the booking website or via our correspondence by email when booking.Ray,My husband and his colleague came aboard your boat for a turbot fishing trip on Monday. Although he wouldn't have mentioned it, it was actually a special birthday present from me. However, I had told you that by email when booking.Sadly, when he got home he was very dissapointed with the trip. Neither of them caught a turbot, but that's OK. They enjoy fishing and enjoy having a go. The reason they were dissapointed is because they felt you were unwelcoming, unfriendly and rude for the duration of the trip. Here are just a few of the things they mentioned:the welcome was non-existent,you didn't ask for their names, you didn't inquire as to whether any of them had been sea fishing before, you offered no proper tution on how to use the rods and reels, you helped to fix the tangles and birds-nests with a cynical, irritated demeanour, you didn't give any safety information which is actually illegal, not only were you swearing around them, you actually swore at them, telling my husband's colleague to bugger off" when he was trying to make conversation

Great fun in the warmer months. Fair price for the services being offered. Different options to tailor to different boating experiences. I have been out with children and the elderly so something suitable for all ages. Lovely day out.

Highly not recommended - 8 hours trip with 3 hours fishing, guys asking at the end to do some mackerel fishing to save a blank, but skiper told that is not possible and finaly came back to marina 25 min earlier. He can not even set up boat tho the drift, so people were tangling each other. Turbot fishing with just 3 under size fish - to compare other boat from Brighton had 150 sizeable fish in 4 days at same time. Completely waste of money. All fish from first bank, in few drift and of course he changed the bank to waste time and not catch nothing. For this money you can easily find somebody with passion, who will do the best to catch a fish, not just grab the money and don't care about the rest. Also saving on petrol, couse 10 knots is not a proper cruising speed

Great value for money and a great skipper. You are in good hands here so take advantage and ask this man, he knows his fishing! I fished with Ray in late May this year, We were after Bream & Bass, Had a great day on the reefs with lots of action, Bream, Pouts, Wrasse & the might hounds.

Terrible experience. I arrived 45 mins before the trip. And the skipper did not show up. He just cancelled the trip without any notice. And he even did not refund my trip.

I recently went out fishing on Grey Viking with two of my friends. The weather was amazing and I have to say the fishing was very good, everyone caught fish. The reason Ray gets a 1 star rating, is due to the fact he has absolutely zero customer service skills and we found him to be incredibly rude before and during the trip. When we were on the boat, he seemed to take exceptional pleasure in patronising people that called him on his mobile enquiring about a fishing trip. It was exactly the same when I'd spoken to him before our trip. On top of this, Ray would disappear at points during the trip, leaving multiple people with fish that needed unhooking, while he smoked a cigarette in his cabin and dashed the end in the sea.My advice would be to find a different charter to take you out, if you're paying the money you want a proper service.
