Homerton College, University of Cambridge

Went for a conference yesterday , the staff were very friendly and the catering service was top notch. Food were five star quality and the Conference Rooms were well maintained.

A Fine Art graduate with a high 2:1's pedagogical practice was truly transformed with frightening speed! (5 years or so into the vocation) by Tony Bowers, Paul Cooper and, not to mention, Mary-Jane Drummond.Taught Med modules (INSET) 96-7 attendance only:Nothing wrong with the tutorial support provided by Homerton. My rigorous supplementary teacher training at Cambridge University has definitely expedited my success as an educator in both public and private sectors - specifically work with school exclusions in three pupil referral units.INSET for teachers on permanent contracts, however, is, perhaps, in my professional judgement, better delivered via much shorter courses - as opposed to longer learning journeys.If you become a research student (holding a substantial and demanding teaching post), beyond PGCE success, get it right at the admissions stage:)) I do, nevertheless, recommend Homerton College unreservedly!One final cautionary note: they say Cambridge is one of our best education providers but the cheap, part time, disintegrating, UCIE provision, I sampled, does not compare well with two other better performing Universities on my bilan. Shop around and guard your card!

Modern and serene. Location close to the biomedical campus and Addenbrooke's Hospital makes it ideal for medics and biomedical scientists.

I have been coming to this place every summer for the last 10 years. What I gave learnt to appreciate is the way how you are encouraged to enjoy the place. The college is going through some changes now and I can only hope that the true spirit of Homerton will remain intact.

Wonderful college, and great gym, had a pleasure being there as part time staff and using the gym/catering facilities, with beautiful old fashioned architecture and very friendly, professional staff.

Lived there for 3 years. Went massively down hill during that time. Expensive and bad and unhealthy food, moudly rooms, too small rooms. Not the cambridge experience, and they don't care about the students

Towards the end of my quest to visit all colleges whilst my son was studying at Cambridge.Honerton was towards the end of my list as it a fair walk from the city centre.The grounds look nice but unable to comment as a study place as I do not know anyone that has been there. It would certainly be a bit too far out for my tastes but that may be perfect for someone else.

Beautiful atmosphere!

Didnt manage to see much during my visit at Homerton. I'm not sure if there are not much space open to public or I missed out an area. Nonetheless, Homerton has a cosy little cafe great for a drink and snack.

I am very disappointed that the two lifts in West House have been out of order for MONTHS and the students have been expected to clear their rooms completely every eight weeks.The ones on the third and fourth floor are expected to carry all their belongings using many flights of stairs.I have been wondering what happened to the 'caring ' members of staff ? Has anyone thought about these students being allowed to leave their heavy belongings in their room while the lifts are being sorted?
