With prices of materials skyrocketing, other merchants supply lines more haphazard and fuel costs running amok, it’s been such a relief to be able to rely on longstanding local merchants with such a range of building materials on hand. Yes, they’re running a business; but, they wouldn’t still be operating after 50 years if they mistreated customers. And yes, they’ll continue to look after you by not ripping to shreds your materials budget. They’ll helpfully advise and are not prone to condescension when advice is needed. In other words, Kelvin folk are decent people and to be recommended. As the adage goes about local facilities - use it or lose it. And you may not realise yet how much you’ll truly miss Kelvin Timber if you lose that service.

A good local merchant with reasonable prices and helpful staff. Much prefer buying here to larger places or online. A very handy location with a decent selection of consumables and random bits and pieces. I would add that I’ve been caught out twice with them closing before 1630 when hours are until 1645. Wish they’d just change the hours (but that’s my only negative).

We've used Kelvin Timber for some really big projects - moving walls about, replacing the flooring, getting fencing, decking and landscaping done, building an extension - as well as plenty of wee DIY things over the last ten years or so, and we've always been really impressed by the customer service, the knowledge of the staff and the quality of the materials. The tradespeople we've hired over the years speak well of the place too.

Excellent service and the price / delivery for my decking was better than B&Q.
