Samaritans of Derby and District

I didnt actually go there? Dont know why it got put on here. But I did ring them sometime ago...probs 3years? They csnt wait to get you off the phone unless you are actually suicidal. Waste of time. Doesnt help.

Been emailing the Samaritans for the past few days, today i phoned up and they were absolutely amazing. Got stuff of my chest and now feel more at ease :)

Take ages to answer the phone

Samaritans claim to help prevent suicide. However, the truth is they are not allowed to advise people to not commit. The Samaritans is a service which doesn't achieve the bare minimum of being able to constructively advise people not to take their own lives. Rude and unhelpful staff answer phones and make people feel worse afterwards. Offering drop in services where the doors are locked and no staff on site. The Samaritans in my opinion are useless and a waste of money. Very poor service overall however, with the development of peer support there are far better alternatives to calling the Samaritans.Thanks,Michael Moore.Business Owner/Entrepreneur from Derby uk.
