Selby Leisure centre is a good facility with a pool, sports pitches and gym. Swimming lessons are also available. Although the place isn't always the cleanest. I would recommend checking it out.

Terrible facility, no wonder they are not making money. Charge for parking, tried to go to public swimming with two kids to be told they only had space for two more. Large pool has maximum capacity of 24 in school holidays as only one life guard. Adult couldn’t sit in the side to supervise, had to phone up to book - no online system. Wasted trip - off to tadcaster

Swimming lessons great - poolside facilities absolutely filthy. No excuses management, get in there and get scrubbing/steam cleaning. A sentiment echoed by other parents sat poolside.

Been a member since 2015. Love the atmosphere, the friendly staff. Always a lovely welcome. Big shout out to kayleighs body attack and spin class, Debbie's zumba and pilates. Fantastic instructors both of them .

After starting Move It Loose It course in July. I've found a love for Aqua Zumba Debbie is fantastic. I also book Lane Swims often, upto 3 times a week in the warmer weather. Recently I've built the confidence to try Body Combat too, which is a great workout. Gym equipment is good only downfall is not been able to scan some machines to record your workout and have to do manually on the app.

Hard to book onto classes. Need to set an alarm for 8 days previous to the class you want to attend. If you are late you can’t join in. Not very leisurely and actually quite stressful. Instructors can be rude and most reception staff are unhelpful. Avoid and join another gym!

I love the leisure centre. Staff are always helpful but I really want to shine a light on Debbie and her classes. I've been coming to her zumba for a while and recently started doing her RPM classes and she's just brilliant. Always puts 100% in, she's friendly and approachable. As an anxiety sufferer, it wasn't easy to start attending the gym but Debbie's classes have such a great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone.

AVOID THEM!Although the contract states that you only need to give one month's notice if you want to terminate it, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. They informed me that I have been a member for 3 months already and asked why I didn't say anything during the first 2 weeks (I was hoping my issues would resolve themselves over time).Well:It's practically impossible to use the swimming pool unless you can go at random times (like Tuesdays from 12 to 2) because there are constantly swimming lessons or family swimming or other events.Using the gym equipment is also nearly impossible since schools bring their students to the gym, and typically there are 3-4 children on one machine. If you're an adult with a job, you don't have time to wait for that. The staff usually doesn't even greet you, and they are rarely willing to clean.Although I have requested multiple times to cancel the contract (which requires a one-year commitment), it's impossible, even after speaking to the manager. The only thing worth mentioning is the sauna section, although precisely when I signed the contract, it wasn't operational for about 3 weeks due to heating issues. If you want to save yourself nearly 500 pounds for a year, then forget about this place.
