Quite a basic site. Sadly the hides were all locked. Great potential. Probably really good in the spring. Warden explained really exciting future plans for development but Essex CC history leaves me to say good luck!

The country park was bleak and beautiful. A Peregrine falcon sitting in a pylon was our best spot. But it's a great shame the RSPB centre has closed down.

It's a lovely place to visit for everyone.Educational for adults and kids and somewhat enchanting with the little garden patches and beautifully designed rock garden, pond, bug hotel...bird paradise. Love the activities in the centre. It's always nice to pop in and see what's going on. Loved seeing the tadpoles and their development into a frog last year... the bird watches sightings etc amazing place to visit.Highly recommended to all ages all year around.

Nice peaceful place, good for dogs,kids to get some fresh air or just to walk about in nature. Parking free, and most of the time easy to park, but can get busy when the sun is out.

Don't be put off by packed car park or busy areas round visitor centre/ main marina etc. - It's really easy to get into quiet scenic pathways - although some result in dead-ends - but a really high species count and some unusual scenery - great place - hope to return soon
