These guys are normally friendly and helpful, but today one of them was surprisingly rude and condescending. I asked where the oven bulbs were, and luckily brought my old bulb with me for reference of size,wattage/volts. I showed him the bulb and instead he showed me a very long bulb totally unsuitable near the till. I told him no, look at it this one again. It needs to be same size so that the oven’s protective casing can fit back over it when I get home. I told him I am usually directed towards back of shop where smaller bulbs are in a box. He showed me the box and then went to serve someone else. I the picked up appropriate oven bulb for the box, took it to the till, and the same guy said “that’s for fridges!” I said no it is not - look ‘heat resistant’ stated on packet. He didn’t even say ohh sorry. Maybe because i am a woman he thought I’d automatically make wrong choice. And he got stressed because a couple of customers walked in after me, and wanted to rush me. Please be kind!

Support local for your usual building supplies and you will always be able to sort the unusual. A great store with everything you can possibly need for home renovations.

Very unhelpful people, they always reply that they only have what you can see on display and don’t even bother to show you where in the store to look for.

Traditional, helpful DIY store that does a decent selection of quality tools (think Wiha) and fixings for most home projects. No hard sell, but happy to share some expertise. Try here before venturing further

Great little shop, always surprise me on how much they stock in such a small space. Much cheaper than B&Q, very friendly and always happy to help and get stuff out for you
