American Golf - Stoke

Just been in to change a top my son bought me for my Birthday. I didn’t have the receipt. The assistant initially suggested that I could not change it without proof of purchase as I could have stollen it from another shop. After a failed phone call to my son to try and obtain proof, he used the technology at his finger tips and found the transaction. He then told me the sale price was different when purchase and so I needed to pay another £10 to change it. As a keen golfer and retired business owner (not a retired shop lifter) I am well aware that customers, on average, will tell 24 people about a bad experience and only 12 about a good one. 23 people to go then.

Quick and very professional service and advice.

Don’t think I’ve been in once and they’ve been helpful and pleasant. Trying a £500 driver and they can’t be bothered to even give you a driver tee to sample the club. Need hire some staff members with some customer service skills.

Got a lot of things to buy here, some very good deals, unfortunately no left handed clubs, which is often the case in most golf shops. Got a new bag and some tops and trousers. A very welcoming gentleman who was very attentive and allowed me to use the toilet which wasn't open to the public.

It’s ok if you are looking to try out a few clubs, but not what you would class as a proper fitting. Didn’t really see any data or try out any alternative shafts, set ups etc.

Nice shop for equipment but ladies clothing range is minimal.

Today I went to the AG shop in Stoke, to try out a selection of mallet putters. Andy (member of staff) was very helpful and gave me around 45 minutes of his time. It was really appreciated, so thank you! SG

Vaughan at American Golf provided an exceptional shopping experience. He took the time to explain the benefits of each driver I was interested in and allowed me to try them on the in-store simulator, ensuring I made the correct choice. His knowledge and personalised service made all the difference. I am very happy with my purchase and the customer service received. Highly recommend this store and will definitely be returning in the near future.

Simple statement. If your new to golf go. The staff are friendly and helpful. No ego's there. Even though I got sold a ladies t shirt. We are all human.

Well stocked with the usual mainstream branded goods, but very slightly over aggressive sales staff (rather than merely helpful, I got the impression of sales targets needing to be met). The premises is slightly too small to merit 5 stars.
