Walmgate Bar Launderette

The owner was very kind and really was super helpful. I got extended a few times for work and was able to drop off my laundry in the morning. I’d get back to my hotel to find my laundry done and folded. Will be coming here again whenever I need to get laundry done in a pinch!

Dropped off a small suitcase worth of clothing at 10am and it was delivered back to our hotel, neatly folded and wrapped in plastic, by 2:30 that afternoon. Excellent service and the owner also suggested a few places to visit (and a few to not bother with as well) while we were in York.

We dropped off a big bag of dirty laundry at 9am, and by 2pm, a clean bag of folded laundry was dropped off at our hotel. The total cost was £30 cash, very reasonable. Also, the owner was kind enough to direct us to a nearby entrance to the York Wall. Overall, a great experience!

Staff were extremely helpful & did a wonderful job for us. We were travelling around UK & in need of some clothes to be washed. They were closing but took our washing, and it was returned to our hotel within a few hours. They went above & beyond to help us. We really appreciate your efforts. Cheers Mick

If you need wash and fold services you will not go wrong by calling Walmgate Bar Laundry. Sam is the nicest person. Our washer in the flat we rented was not working properly and we had been on the road for a while. I called him our first morning in York and he was available right away. Our clothes were clean and nicely folded in less than two hours and to save us time and steps, Sam delivered our laundry to us promptly. Upon hearing it was our first day in York , he also gave us a map of the Center City of York and made several suggestions as to what were must sees and which, in his opinion, were not worth the time or cost. He is a warm, helpful man who seems to have a permanent smile on his face. What a great welcome to York!

Sam is the best! We were traveling through York and needed laundry done in a day. We dropped it at 11am and by 1:30 he rode his bike to meet us downtown and deliver our laundry. It was all folded and perfectly clean. Highly recommend!!!

Great service! Our hotel staff recommended this launderette and I was very pleased. Dropped our clothes off around 10:30 am, went to the National Railway Museum and picked everything up around noon. Nicely cleaned, sorted, folded and bagged and ready to head out to Durham! I highly recommend this business

We found Walmgate Bar via Google and would agree with all of the great reviews that Sam does a great job with laundry. Our laundry was well taken care of and returned to us at the hotel, which made our life very easy. It is located at the Walmgate Bar stop via the hop on and off, and we actually took our laundry with us on the bus to drop.Sam gave us the best map and tour information that we found in York and pointed out the best places to walk the wall and pointed out some of the best museums. We really appreciated his advice and time.
