1. Just because they won't let you in doesn't mean you can't go on the nice hack to Riverhead and you can also have a lot of fun there I do live there so I know what is inside and it's A-MAZ-ING

Been a course fisherman all my live but decided to give fly fishing a try. Lovely lake and facilities caught a 2lb rainbow on my third ever cast and 2 more over a 2lb. I have since learnt my presentation techniques and casting where terrible but even a duffer like me can catch here

I called the day before I wanted to fish and was greeted warmly. The landowner explained how the trout lake had been fishing and said that Clive, the water bailiff would know more.Clive turned out to be a true hero. I am a novice fly fisherman and this was my first time at Wansford. Thanks to his help and advice I had 3 decent fish but lost 4 more due to my rookie errors. Clive must have spent at least 30 minutes helping me.Fantastic value for money. I now intend to go as often as I can.

Too much overgrowth on bankside limited room for forward casting as lots of trees mostly depend on diagonal casting
