Hauxley Nature Reserve
Fabulous place to wander around enjoying all the wildlife. The paths are all well maintained. The staff that greet you on arrival are all very friendly and there's a lovely cafe on site as well !! Not forgetting all the bird hides dotted around the site.....all comfortable and well maintained.

A lovely reserve. £2 carparking for non-members down a lane with some very steep speedbumps. Friendly, helpful staff in the visitors centre. Well maintained accessible path around the reserve with well position hides giving good views of the lake. Tasty café with friendly staff and good views of the lake.

About a sq. km area of varied habitat including flooded coal workings. Wide variety of wild birds, and a few mammal species. Small but excellent cafe. £2 parking charge, free entry.

Beautiful spot and right on great part of coastline. Has plenty of hides to sit and bird watch. Clean toilet and good information. Ì used the cafe which was staffed with lovely friendly staff. The gold star goes to Yvonne who made todays cheese scones. These were truly best I've tasted in years almost beat my own. Very small car parking fee.

Nice tranquil place. Plenty of walks, hides. Vistor centre with cafe and toilets. Pay to park. Disabled parking could be better, more spaces and more room around car.

Enjoyed a nice relaxed walk with the kids along the nature reserve. Great for bird watchers although you need to perhaps create your own fun if you have young kids.

Wet helpful staff. Keen to tell us about the place. Good cafe. And well kept hides and plenty of them. East to escape over a fence onto the costal path. Free for us as we arrived on foot and only charge for cars.

Nice circular walk around here, lots of hides to watch the wildlife, we went hoping to see a red squirrel but no joy, seen lots of birds, rabbits, sheep, swans, ducks, pheasants and a deer. Nice and quiet, spent about an hour and half here.

Brilliant nature reserve! Only £2 to park. Visitor centre and great cafe with amazing views over the lake. Walks around the lakes with several hides for viewing. We were very pleasantly surprised at the size of this reserve and will definitely visit again when we are in the area
