The Painter's Cottage B & B

My husband and I had a wonderful stay with hosts Maddie and Duncan at the Painter's Cottage. They were gracious hosts and went the extra mile in suggesting restaurants, making a taxi reservation and making us lunch for our train departure. We would happily return to their B & B if we are again in beautiful St Ives.

We were greeted warmly by Maddie and Duncan, both were very knowledgeable about the area. The chocolate biscuits were a nice touch in our welcome bag, especially after a long drive. The room was lovely, clean, well sized. The sea view looking out across St Ives Bay was incredible. The bathroom was as big as the bedroom, with an all new suite. The bath is massive, very deep and once I'd filled it with bubbles I never wanted to leave. Breakfast was generous, with lots of choice. Duncan cooked breakfast to perfection and kept us entertained with stories, yet always seemed to know when to leave us to enjoy the, again, splendid seaview from the breakfast room. The Painter's cottage is a friendly and comfortable base to explore At Ives.Tge hosts were even kind enough to let us leave the car until we had finished in St Ives on the day of checkout. We will definitely revisit and are recommending Maddie and Duncan to everyone that will listen

We stayed last night for one night! The hosts are amazing - Madie and Duncan are really lovely people who make the effort, extremely knowledgeable and super kind. Breakfast was spot on - made to order and the yogurt and granola is absolutely amazing! We’ll definitely be back even if it’s just to talk about art with them. Stay there, you won’t regret it.

My mom and I stayed at the Painters Cottage the night before we started a week long hike on the Coastal Path. Maddie and Duncan were SO accommodating. Our room was lovely and the B&B is in a great location for walking around town. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend to anyone!

Staying at the Painters cottage st Ives was one of the best decisions I have ever made, considering the circumstances of social distancing. Me and my friend had a very pleasant and wonderful time with Madie and Duncan as our hosts. The rooms were splendid and neat. The breakfast was so much to our taste! Shoutout to the chef(Duncan) for that! Because of Madie's directions and suggestions of places to eat and see, we were able to make the most of our 5 day trip. We had so much fun and a memorable time. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Excellent 1 night stay, perfect location, lovely clean b&b, room was amazing, fantastic breakfast and Duncan (and Maddie) was so lovely (even gave Lucy a gift for her birthday!). We will be back next year and highly recommend to anyone wanting a central but quiet stay in St Ives. Thanks again, best wishes. Christian & Lucy.

Lovely place. Hosts were really helpful and welcoming. Duncan's breakfasts were amazing. Had a delightful couple of days here as part of walking SW Coast Path.

Excellent place to stay as St. Ives. Absolutely enjoyed my one night stay at the Painters Cottage B&B. Located close to the town centre / train station and the pier. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. Hosts Madie and Duncan are very welcoming and friendly, gave me some tips on the tracks and the area.

We were attending a wedding and Duncan and maddy let us in early so we could leave our bags. We stayed for one night the room was brilliant and only wish we got chance to use the bath it was massive. We were greeted in the morning by Duncan on a first name basis. The breakfast was amazing surberb quality and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend this little gem.
