Turned up for ferry yesterday morning at 10.45 to be told by staff that they had to take a mandatory break of 45 minutes and the next ferry would be in one hour!!!! Considering the first ferry was at 08.50 seemed a bit early for an extended break!!! So disappointing and really poor customer service couldn’t be bothered in using this service again.

Took the Windermere ferry for a change, to get to Langdale via Hawkshead. Very pleasant experience, card payments only at the moment. This ferry has been operating for many years, and utilises chains underwater that guide the ferry across. A new replacement is planned.

Ferry house have Boat to near hill top. No clear guidelines, it’s charge by local vender.Paid on boat.

Went for the ferry today, 26 May, Closed!!! No mention previosly on website. So had to drive all the way round. Not good!!So, ring before going, or something???

Brill! Only £1 on foot, runs every 20 mins and takes less than 10mins to cross. Staff are cheerful and friendly.We took a day trip from Windermere / Bowness to walk up the west bank of the lake. Lovely woodland and bankside walk up to Wray Castle and then beyond.

Perfect ferry journey across Lake Windermere. We just missed the ferry out but only ended up waiting about twenty minutes. The ferry pulled up all the cars got off, we got on paid by contact less and off we went.I do get a bit sea sick so was slightly concerned but in the end you couldn't even tell you were moving!Once at the other side we departed quickly. Very efficient, effective and very novel way to cross Windermere.
